  2. Because he's not wearing the the black bedliner. It will be hot to the touch in the sun but so would white. Sand at the beach gets hot, doesn't it? It won't make much of a difference sitting on the seats in it. I have two SUV's. One with black leather and one with light tan leather. There's no difference in inside temperature when they sit in the summer sun. Give the guy a break. He got a great deal on a nice boat.
  3. 3/4" ply with 2x4 and 2x10 supports underneath, sealed with 4 coats of Thompson's Water Seal. Lowe's outdoor carpet glued on top and stapled underneath. 2007 Honda Kiwi Green Dupont paint on the exterior.
  4. He said it is very stable. The front pedestal can be lowered like the back one. It cost him around 1k for materials (but he had everything --LED interior lights, cup holders, locks for the storage, on board charger, and the seats were custom made) and I charged him 1k to do the work. You could get away with $500 easy if you do all the work yourself.
  5. Started a little side business.... when I'm not fishing. Modding jons and other aluminums into bass boats. Making a couple bucks and it's fun. Just finished this one for a guy and he was thrilled. He wanted the works too..12v outlets, interior lighting, running lights, etc., etc.
  6. Thanks for all your advice guys. I will let you know how I do in the tournaments.
  7. I'm all set up for the tournaments, minus the livewell. I'm thinking of using a cooler with a high quality aerator.

  9. Hi Guys, Just joined a Bass fishing tourney with my father in law. Talked to a buddy of mine who is in the same club and he says most of the guys have boats with 100hp engines and higher. My boat is nice, but only has a 15hp and goes 15-20mph. Give me some tips on what I can do, being that I'm not going to be the first one hitting the good spots at the tournaments. We can fish, but I have a feeling we're going to have to play "clean up". P.S. Anyone have a 30 horse they want to give me???
  10. I had an Endura 50 lb and it pushed mt 10' jon faster than a 1.75 hp gas motor did.
  11. Thats exactly right. The notaries charge really high online messenger service fees to initially process all the paperwork. Could have mailed it in, but I wanted to fish!
  12. They have walk in places in PA. I bought a boat, trailer and motor for $500. Great deal, right? Yeah, untill I had to transfer both titles, pay for new registrations on both, plus the notary's ridiculous fees that cost me over $200 smackers. Pis%#* me right off!
  13. Ok, well if you find it let me know. Thanks.
  14. Way2slow, I checked on Iboats and a 1953 fastwin 15 and a 1965 fastwin 18 prop are the same part number so it will work! That would be awesome if you would send that to me. Maybe we could get something figured out. Let me know. Had the boat out today with my son who is 75 lbs versus my farher in law's 225. Played around with the high speed knob and found a better spot in it where the motor gained a few rpms. It wanted to get up and plane but just fell a little short so I'm sure that prop would help. Obviously I will pay for the shipping if you could find it. Thank you.
  15. It's a '53 Evinrude Fastwin. It has over 100 psi in both cylinders, a carb rebuild, new coils and impeller. It runs great. I didn't get a chance to check the propeller pitch yet. I'll let you know.
  16. Thank you for that. I can use it. I have to figure out a way to get some weight off the boat. I realize I am right at capacity, I have around 900 in the boat with 2 people and my capacity is 880, but I just need a little more power to get up on plane.
