OMG I want one. BTW..where are you getting your XR blanks?
  2. Yeah, wish I has some artistic ability. I am getting better at it but have a long way to go
  3. I am planning on making them in about that size.
  4. Eh...anytime I have tried to sell something that I have made, the mods delete the threads and send me a warning PM. I guess I will shy away from selling them on here.
  5. AWESOME! We went out this weekend as well...I didn't catch anything that big, but then again, there isn't much that big to begin with. I took all these pics before my two buddies showed up. They also threw my baits and we landed numerous nice fish. Amazingly, I looked in the recycle bin...only 3 needed to be remelted. I would say that each averages around 5 fish. Here are some....
  6. Absolutely SICK! Would you PM me info on how to do the photo finish?
  7. It ain't that deep. It was mostly a joke. I am doing a couple of different methods that are working extremely well, which are differen than anything I have read about. If you wanted to know, it would have been easier to pm. No worries as I e-mailed lurecraft directly and they gave me a few different methods for properly getting them on. Not sure why you had a problem with sharing information with someone just looking to get into it and make a few for personal use but thats your choice.
  8. Clear coat Negative, ghostrides. Any sort of coating, including adhesives, cloud up and peel off.
  9. Esp not in dingy water.... Buy these are also for others.
  10. How are you fine trimming your baits after casting? I am taking a razo to them...but it looks like poo.
  11. Mostly Lurecraft. however, A LOT of the plastic is coming from extra packs of baits that I picked up on clearance, or used plastics.
  12. Dude. The 2nd picture, middle bait is killer. I must have. PM me. I would like a square billed one, preferably.
  13. Here are the v1.2 swimbaits, both 5.25 and 4.5 plus v1.0 "Lizardo" lizards. Lizardo is a full 8 inches...not the 8 inch ones from the store...I guess a man measured the store bought ones...LOL. Here is a pic of my "salesman kit". Butterscotch 4.5 inch swimbait with silver flake. Clear Blueberry with flake Lizardo has a cast in rattle, garlic scent and painted eyes. Up until last night, I had made only 3. Now I have several bags of them, including v1.0 of "BT special" and "Boddagetta"colors. BT is in honor of my father, who only used this one worm growing up...a purple firetail 6'' worm. So, I made some in that color. Boddagetta is a blue and orange ,after the Auburn Tigers. On my very first cast with Lizardo, I caught a bass. Granted...he was smaller than Lizardo.
  14. Send me an address.
  15. Eh. I'd say most fishermen are over-rated. Not the baits.
  16. That, my friend, I will keep close to the vest. I'm not normally a mook about stuff...but it took me forever to learn how to do it right. I will tell ya, go look at the mass produced baits and do what they do....if ya can.
  17. Dang. So, no one wants a few baits shipped to them to try out?
  18. Let the fish tell you. If there is a mat on the water, I throw hollow frogs. If the grass is dispersed, I throw a buzz frog. I can't stress enough my first sentence. You get as many instinct hits on the drop as you do in retrieving. There are even cases where I have let the frog sit idle for 5-10 seconds for a hit.
  19. In the last week I have caught: 6lb blue cat 2.3lb crappie 2lb cat 10lb drum
  20. What they said..... The 'gills are on beds on my lake in TN. We were catching 10 inch dinks every other cast.....right next to the gills.
  21. All I have thrown since the spawn is swimbaits. This started happening to me after they came off of beds. You aren't letting them eat it. They are headbutting to stun, then slurping it up. Chances are, you are setting the hook to early, and the fish is chomping after the hooksset and simply holding on. I literally brought one to the boat that wasn't even hooked, on Saturday. It just looked at me, spit the lure out and swam off. Feel for the second hit. Then hit them.
  22. swimbait. jerk it. let it fall. rip it. burn it. /thread.
  23. It depends, if you are going to pour for your personal use as a hobby, heck ----> forget it !!!, good molds cost money, unless you just fish with one type of bait you need molds for different worms, grubs, creatures, etc, etc, so the investment in good quality molds is large, you can easily shell out a grand just in molds, then you add the supplies ( plastisol, colors, metal flake, etc, etc ) and turns to be quite an investment. The only way for making it less expensive is to sell part of what you make and keep what you need and pour the most you can to reduce the cost per unit until you reach a point where it 's cheaper for you to pour than to purchase. Now, as a hobby the story is different, I pour jigheads, lately I 've been pouring some soft plastic baits, for me is a hobby so cost matters little, plus I get the satisfaction of catching fish with something I made, My compadre, a couple of pals and myslef have been catching fish lately with the baits I 've poured, actually I don 't sell the baits, they give me part of the cost of the supplies, I pour, then we split the production. Good way to spend some time in days when for whatever reason you can 't go fishing, better way to kill some time than spending several hours watching TV or playing with the game console. this
  24. I have now made 20 "successful" swim baits. It wasn't hard to do...just have alot of patients and ventilation. My thread is a couple of threads down.
  25. Score!
