  1. hey simp.... i sent you a pm.
  2. i use a trailer hook 90% of the time.... i don't see any benefit to a trailer.. imo
  3. thanks mike. i just know it is getting close to those cabins being released and i'd like to get things firmed up. so.....if anyone needs someone to fill a spot....please let me know. thanks....
  4. water, gatorade, a sandwich, peanuts, and a snickers
  5. i fish from the bank a lot...and learned pretty quick that dragging or hopping a jig will get hung up in (usually) less than 5 casts.. ugh.. and crank baits aren't much better. even light weighted texas rigs were getting hung up a lot. so...i switched to... weightless plastics. worms, hula grubs, ultra vibe speed craws and flukes or live magic shads work the best for me... topwater parallel to bank. popper, buzzbait, spook, jiiterbug (early and late) spinnerbait... good luck...
  6. i own 2 of the wooden handle models and have used them for 5 years with no problem what so ever. i would recommend them for sure. imo they are a great value
  7. last year in our 1st tourney of the year in March my biggest keeper came on an LC Pointer 78sp in Aurora Black. i'll have that same lure tied on in 3 weeks again....
  8. these "updates" are killin' me.... it just reaffirms my commitment to go... they are a love-hate thing love to see and hear about how good the fishing is there....and hate the wait til May i can't wait....
  9. based on the many "lost fish and bent hooks" that others here talk about ...i change all mine out to Gamakatsu. i have a lot of confidence in that brand
  10. I have been using the o ring for a couple of years on my wacky rigs--have not noticed any decrease in hookups since switching to the o ring--only thing I have noticed is my worms do not rip as easy and they last a lot longer and that is a good thing! X2
  11. anyone else looking for a cabin co-renter?
  12. i throw light cranks on spinning gear. pflueger president, pinnacle perfecta, med action rod, 8lb yo-zuri ultra soft
  13. pointer 78sp would be my choice. aurora black 1st choice green sexy shad 2nd american shad 3rd
  14. All of my baitcasters have backing on them. I put a piece of tape around the backing line. After that I tie on just like I would tie to the spool. X2 i also do this with the spinning reels that have braid on them.
  15. other than green pumpkin and watermelon in clear to stained, i use junebug the most in stained to muddy water. and have luck with junebug even at night.
  16. Know that it might still stain the carpet! Might not be the best idea! good point... i'll test it on something else first....i don't want to stain anyones carpet...
  17. i can't wait to pull the one i read here a few weeks ago.....i think it was Bobby who posted it. after using some reall JJ's and letting the boater smell how strong it is. have a JJ's jar with water and yellow dye and "accidentally" spill it on your buddy's carpet on his precious bass boat...
  18. as a non-boater i know what you mean....need to narrow it down. i usually use these basic baits and bring color based on which body of water we are going to. senko zoom speed craw/ultra vibe craw/rage craw yamamoto hula grub baby brush hog rage smokin' rooster swim senko trick worm curly tail worm....powerbait/ rage anaconda rodent/beaver style fluke/ caffeine shad rage shad i'll have other soft plastics also but use these 90% of the time
  19. i mainly switch to Gamakatsu same size i also have used Owner Stinger 36 i picked up some of the KVD shortshank ewg size 2 (on sale for $3) but am not sure what to put them on
  20. magic eraser and u-40 is the ticket. just one coat of the u-40 is all you need at a time. any more will not soak in. i actually cut the erasers into 1/3's to get the most out of each. i could clean at least 2 rods with each 1/3. they look brand new
  21. I haven't found a brand or duo-snaps that didn't work better then the other. They all seem to be about the same. I use the smallest ones I can find. X2 i attach it to the split ring.
  22. #2 sounds the same. what i found was that the lawn mower tubing was more flexible and a little easier to work with. plus it has a yellow tint...easy to find if it comes off. i actually keep them on the spinnerbaits so they are already there. i use Danielson duo lock snaps i get from TW and BPS brand also
  23. as a co-angler i bring 4-5 rigs max. with 2-3 of them rigged with snaps. i can even use the snaps with a spinnerbait...thanks to an idea that Sam shared here. get about a foot of the plastic tubing used as fuel line on lawn mowers and cut a small section to put over the bend in the spinnerbait. it keeps the snap in place. i've never had a problem using snaps.
  24. i use YoZuri 8lb. with its diameter it works well for me at all depths and with its higher break point i have not had a problem with breaking. i always use a duo lock snap so i can change crankbaits quick based on where my boater takes us.
  25. just wanted to give a little testimonial to their customer service.... when Bobby offered the 30% discount on his spinnerbaits i decided to try one. after i placed the order i realized it was pretty dumb on my part to just order one and it would be a better value to get at least another one. so i called later that afternoon and left a message that i'd like to add another and i would pay for it separately or however was best. i also sent an email explaining this. i called again the next morning and got ahold of a guy who said he didn't normally work in the office but that my order had already been processed and he couldn't help. i was disappointed, but i understood this morning Kim calls me and says she had been out of the office due to the flu and she read my email and talked to Bobby and he said "make it right". my order hadn't been shipped and Bobby said to just add the other spinnerbait to my order...no charge. i told Kim i would pay for the other one but she said...no. i have read all the good things about their customer service.....but now i have experienced it!!! i honestly can say i will be ordering more from them. i already use the Cavitron Buzzbait exclusively as well as the Megastrike attractant. thanks Bobby.... you are as awesome as others have stated. i hope i get to meet you at the Roadtrip in May. it will be my 1st one. hope you are there.
