I don't even believe Heisman means best player in college, it means he's the great player on a team that has a lot of stroke with the people who make the decision; Other wise more small college players would win the Heisman That's the problem USC looks good on paper but they never really get tested, look at their schedule of 12 games only 3 teams have a legitimate shot of beating them; that's nine games they can use to build phenomenal stats. Look at LSU schedule they have 7 teams out of 12 games that have a legitimate shot of beating them: so who do you think will have better looking stats? I think the only way to have a true national champion is a play off system which will not happen because these big money colleges don't want to lose to a small college.

Normal pool level for Toledo Bend is 172.0; on 10/16/2006 it was at 161.25 which is 10.75 feet low far a lake that is 190,000 acres. Low water conditions concentrate bait which in turn concentrates bass, shore line grass grows and when the lake level rises the baby bass have more places to hide.

Avid I didn't mean I was intentionally front ended but rather for a lack of paying attention, while Brandon has 30 years experience on the Bend the majority has been alone. There are two ways to approach deep water structure during windy conditions; one is to approach from the down wind side and to stay on the trolling motor keeping the boat in position but this allows only the person in the bow access to the target area. The other approach is from the up wind side and to anchor in a position allowing greater access to the target area. In Brandon's defense he is a tugboat captain so he is use to doing every things routinely (the same way every time), this and the fact he fishes alone is why he positioned the boat the way he did. At the time I didn't say any thing but days later it was realized the boat could have been positioned differently.

There is no bitter conclusion; what you don't understand is the Lowe's Creek to Spring Hill area of the Bend is very target oriented and if your casts are not on target you'll have very little chance of getting bit. While there were 2 guys in the bow only 1 was getting the bites and that was the 1 running the trolling motor while positioning the boat. Had the weather permitted the boat to be positioned in a manner where all 3 anglers had access to the targets being fished the out come may have very well been different. Am I making excuses for being skunked absolutely not but I do understand this area of the lake and what is required to catch bass there and I also understand the odds were slightly stacked against me.

A lot of people will be surprised how good Matt Flynn really is, yes he has had only one start but he has played in 15 games. Passing: 78-43-2 for 689 yds &10 tds; rushing: 28-125 & 1 td. The offense under new coordinator Gary Crowton there'll be more option, more quick timing patterns, and quicker reads on the line. I would be more worried about John David Booty at USC than I would with Flynn; Booty didn't sign with LSU because he wasn't good enough to beat out Russell or Flynn. All three came out at the same time in 2003 and it wasn't even close.
