Glad every thing went well; I guess since you can't fish you'll have to teach us how

  3. One of my buddies who retired to Toledo Bend called last night and we were talking about some of the deep structure I put him on. He was saying after Matt Fly and I had talked to him a couple months ago he had fished one of my big bass spots but couldn't get them to bite. Well after 15 to 20 minutes of him explaining how he approached this underwater point I realized his problem. I had explained to him that when you're approaching this point he was to drop anchor in 15' of water and cast towards the river channel. Simple enough right! Wrong because here's what I didn't consider, he has a Skeeter 22I which is 21' 8 long so when his depth finder on the transom read 15' he would walk up front and drop anchor. He then picked up his rod and started fishing not realizing the bow of his boat where he was standing is in 8' of water and his cast would barely reach the edge of the drop off. Solution: When using the rear depth finder to mark 15' fish off the rear deck When using the bow depth finder to mark 15' fish off the bow deck
  4. First off I guess y'all aint bought a Trap in a while cause they have had new hooks for about 8 months now. Just a few techniques: ricochet em off wood, slow roll em, stop-n-go, kneel-n-reel, buzz em on top

  11. Sounded like a couple of them Texas teams I played high school football in Louisiana until my junior year then we moved to Cleveland Texas north of Houston talk about an eye opener. The high school I went to in Louisiana LaGrange only coached run offence; I was a defensive back so I don't do much as far as passing defense but when I got to Cleveland it was 300-400 yard passing games.
  12. Dude Sept 15 we are playing Middle Tennessee not Nebraska
  13. I work for Academy and presently own 2 CastAway rods; they have Fuji guides, I think every rod manufacture uses them. Now keep in mind they are not the $49.99 rods but they are outstanding rods and have served me will. Castaway CSAP68 Sport Series Med. Heavy All Purpose Length: 6' 8 Line Class: 10 to 17 lbs. Lure Weight: 5/16 to ¾ oz. Castaway CSB66 Medium Heavy Bait Cast Length: 6' 6 Line Class: 8 to 14 lbs. Lure Weight:¼ oz to 5/8 oz.

FYI: a jig weight is based on the amount of lead used to form the head; add to this weight a hook, skirt, & trailer it doesn't weigh the same. Put a ½ oz on a scale & check it out Bet it aint no ½ oz

  21. I fish jigs with the same hopping motion of a Texas Rig just with smaller slower hops.
  22. I've got buddies saying if LSU handles the Hookies with ease then the Tigers should jump to #1 but I don't see it. I see the Horns in a close one but the will prevail due to being better coached.
  23. If you're gonna go deep you gotta go with plastics or jigs
  24. Great article dude Couple of hints when using Microsoft Word Never cut/paste always copy/paste Don't close the page you're typing on until you're sure your paste is successful, if not hit the undo button and every thing will re-appear. Always hit the save button often that way it can't be lost
  25. Avid ever notice those little diamond shaped signs on trucks? They give you a pretty little picture when in reality these chemicals being hauled are corrosive, explosive, toxic, carcinogenic and radioactive chemicals and they are hauled across this nation daily. Keep in mind this bombs were not ARMED with a detonator, they were simply loaded into the bomb bay of a B-52 and at worst if the plane had crashed you would have had a radioactive spill.
