A couple of Labor Day Kansas Smallmouths
The Friday before Labor Day, it sprinkled some. Water levels were at least 3' higher a week later when I went back the third time, so the rain must have come after Labor Day.

A couple of Labor Day Kansas Smallmouths
Kansas is far from a destination for Smallmouths, but I did manage to bring a few to the boat this weekend. Went Friday afternoon to beat the Holiday crowd. I caught Smallmouths, Largemouths, Spotted, and White bass on the same presentations, and added a bonus of a couple of drag ripping wipers to the mix. Addictive to say the least, I couldn't stand it, so I went on Labor Day as well and suffered through the jetski's, tubers, and party pontoons just to feel those smallmouths tug......so hard...it was worth it. Nothing big, except my smile.

Lets see your best.
Wow, what a beautiful fish. For me part of the appeal is the markings and coloration.

Looking for guided trip
For both numbers and size, these are currently the dream spots. 50-100 smallmouth, 4-6 lbs is possible. If it REALLY SUCKS you might only get half that! 8-) What months do you recommend? Have read a lot of comments about great fishing there.

Looking for guided trip

greetings from Kansas
New member here from Kansas City. Believe it or not, we have smallmouths here in windswept prairies of KS. I have very little experience with these fish, but know they are spectacular. I got the fever, and am booking a trip to Ontario specifically for smallmouths. Thanks for the active and informative forum, I am here to learn and succeed.
