My first bass tournament
Well this Sunday is my first bass tournament. My fishing partner and I have been fishing together for a year now, and we think we will make a pretty good team. He has done many pro tourneys on the BFL, FLW tours. With his teaching over the past year we feel ready to try a tourney. So with that said I am looking for some advice. The tourney is on a reservoir in north western Ohio which I have never fished. It ranges from 5 to 45 feet deep. My biggest concern is the weather. It will start raining today and into tomorrow, letting up with possible T-storms on Friday night. Scattered showers on Saturday, with heavy clouds forecasted for Sunday with temps in the low 60's the day of the tourney. Any thoughts, comments, and strategies would be appreciated.

My Passion for Bass Fishing
Seems we share the same passion. That is a great read, well done. As with you so many of my friends and family don't get it. Like you said how do you explain it? I too, am waiting for the weekend. A weekend of many ,many, casts. Hopefully returning lunkers.

Big jump in air temp this weekend
Lillypads, lillypads act like little heaters in colder water. There will be bass in the lillypads. I was out on the water here in Ohio on Saturday. It was sunny, the lake was dead. Until we got to the lillypads. In just a few feet of water they were there. We had a great day, in less than 3 feet of water.

Thanks Falcon, Looks like I'll leave the plastics at home.

Favorite Angler?
My choice would be either Alton Jones, or Hank Parker. Not only 2 of the best anglers in the world, but men of God also. Truly admirable.

New Newb.
I'm a new newb as of today(4/15). I just picked up bass fishing again last year, after a 20 year hiatus due to traveling softball career. I retired from that gig and now have a terrible case of "bass fever". My wife calls it a sickness, I call it a passion. I bought a beautiful 14ft Starcraft fishing boat and am in love with my new sport. I fish in the northern Ohio area. Usually around Portage lakes near Akron. I want to thank Bass Fishing resource for their work on this site. It's fantastic. I have learned alot as I get back into bass fishing full swing. I look forward to conversing with everyone. Have a blessed day. May all your casts be true, and your bass be lunkers!!! :)

Hi, I'm a newb, and first time poster. I love this site have been visiting for almost 2 years now. Such a wealth of info available. Heading out on to the water for the first time friday. I have been watching fishing shows and reading mags all winter, it's time to hit the water. Weather: sunny & 63, water temp around 50.(Mogadore reservoir) Any ideas how to approach getting my lunkers? Thanks.
