  1. A few days ago I asked for some input on a new spinnerbait rod. A number of you recommended the Avid AVC70MHF. What is the advantage of the 7'0" rod, vs. the 6'6" AVC70MHF? At present, the closest thing I own is a Powell 733CEF (7'3" med hvy, extra fast) that I bought used from a friend. I want the greatest versatility possible. Thanks
  2. Thanks Guys. Has anyone tried the rods by Deep South. I hear the quality is good.
  3. I am looking for a new rod to use with spinnerbaits on Florida lakes. What are your suggestions in the $125 to $175 range?
  4. Thank you all very much. I think that I will go with a newer model as opposed to the Castaic.
  5. As I said the other day, I am new to bass fishing. I have been reading the forum for advice on a new reel in the $150 - $200 range for use on a Powell flipping rod that I just purchased. The most frequently mentioned reels on the forum for pitching/flipping are the Curado, the Revo STX, and the Energy PT. Is there a problem with the reels like the "Castaic" and others that are designed for this purpose? What am I missing? Thanks for the assistance
  6. I am new to bass fishing. Can someone please tell my why the weight for a flipping shot is tied directly to the leader, rather than attached with a clip, thereby making it easier to change weights?
  7. Use two O-Rings in an "X" pattern and put the hook through the center of the "X". The hook will come out sideways.
