  1. FLW BFL was out of Americamps this past Saturday, here is the link to the results http://bfl.flwoutdoors.com/tournament.cfm?cid=2&did=8&t=news&tday=1&atype=3&tid=6401&tyear=2010&aid=150797 . Unfortunately no mention of a 10lber. Perhaps another tourney?
  2. Hitting the Potomac tomorrow probably take a peek in Mattowoman, launching in the Occ. Any words of wisdom? Water temps, clarity, etc.. Thanks in advance!!
  3. I have found that a pair of thin garden type gloves over latex gloves with my casting thumb and pointer finger cut off with a hand warmer on the back of my hand under the latex works well. Wow what a run-on sentence!
  4. I can't fill in the blanks....pm? But if it involves fishing I'm in
  5. Yea also wanted to talk to you about possibly filling in for some tourneys
  6. Right on, I'm excited to fish it..should be a sick combo. Hopefully going to get out Friday, let me know if you are interested in going out.

  10. Anyone thinking about fishing tomorrow???
  11. Haha, thanks Jon! I guess I set myself up for that one huh? You know how to resize them?
  12. Caught one 7.34 about a 3 weeks ago, tried to upload the pics, but it says the max filesize is 175 KB, my pics are 225. Anyone know how to make them smaller??
  13. In my experience this lake has relatively low pressure year round. But this time of year even less. The ramp is a little tricky but well worth the trip out there.
  14. Germantown Lake @ Crockett Park http://www.fauquiercounty.gov/Government/departments/parksrec/index.cfm?action=crockett This place has some giants
  15. I might be hitting Crockett, if not then somewhere in Burke
  16. Hitting LB tomorrow morning with Slawson and Rob if your interested
  17. The pictures are from a 2007 fish population study of the Reston lakes, they were "caught" by electrofishing. Here is the link to the results and pics-- https://www.reston.org/ParksRecreationEvents/Nature/NaturalResources/Watershed/FishPopulationStudy/Default.aspx?qenc=HzT9ACzZbNs%3d&fqenc=IuyzM7YCiw3nG38zhraJzw%3d%3d
  18. Charleston Angler for sure, check out their website. Also Haddrells is a good one. Check out Charlestonfishing.com for some great local reports and Charleston specific advice. Where are you going / staying and what are you planning on fishing for?
  19. Not sure what you're getting at, I used that term to distinguish. I was giving some perspective from both sides, not taking one. Make no bones about it, I understand where I fall, I dont claim otherwise. I would think you would know that Drums.
  20. I as well fish these tourneys, and as Stunning stated there is another side to the coin. There are a couple of things I would like to address; First, if the manner in which the tourney angler approached and fished the spot you were on was as you say, it was wrong. There is an appropriate way to approach the situation and that would be to explain the situation to the "weekend" angler and ask that you be able to fish, having been on both sides of the situation I would think the"weekend" angler would oblige. Second, to say its just a $50 club tourney is a little naive, there is much more that goes in to this than showing up on sunday, paying the money and fishing for 10 hours, at least for some. Some invest hours and days of their time fishing the res, locating fish, learning their habits, etc. And as we all know the amount of money that can be spent on tackle, boats, etc. can be hefty. Now again, trying to be objective, I absolutley understand that the same can be said for the guy not in the tourney, as that was me before I started to fish em. However, as Stunning said things are very tight leading up to the classic, a very few lbs seperate the top 15. It may just be a club tourney but its something to take pride in, and believe it or not supplemental income for some. Look I understand how you feel, and if the situation presented itself to me I would not be happy either, but do understand that there is more than meets the eye. Also consider some of the "graduates" of that club/tourney trail, there are some sick sticks that have moved up in the ranks of tourney bass fishing and have done quite well for themselves. As for the jig incident, I do think that this is fabricated, as Stunning said it would have been a major point of contention at the weigh in, and nothing was said. I do take issue with making those kind of accusations, especially if untrue.
  21. I dont know that they are yet, or if they will be for that matter. They are both in middle school and fairly new to bass fishing, I spent about an hour teaching them a few things and talking about baits, techniques, etc. and I recommended BR as a great place to gain some knowledge and read some info from some local anglers. I posted in hopes that they heeded my advice and have checked it out. As I said it's a long shot, but they seemed very eager to learn.
  22. This is a long shot I know--- Fished pond off of Franklin Farm road(visible from street and has a small dock, not sure of name) on Tuesday. To the 2 kids I ran into, I was the guy who gave you a few pointers, some Gamakatsu hooks, and senkos. Before I left, when we were trying to get you out of that tree without success, I left the box of all my hooks, tungsten, shakey heads, football jig heads, etc. on the dock. You guys seemed like good kids and I know if you see this you will do the right thing. Please send me a PM and I will come pick it up, I will have a reward for sure! Also, I've been out there everyday since in hopes of running into you, will be out tonight and next week, same times 6-730ish. I will be extremely, extremely, grateful-that stuff is not cheap!! Trying to put off a trip to Dicks before the tourney on Sunday. Here's to hoping you check out the website I told you about and see this post. Thanks, Matt P.S. For those hoping for a report---caught 11, nothing over 2.5 lbs. All were caught on minus 1 and chigger craw or baby brush hog on a shakeyhead.
