You're not going to find a quality rel at 50.00 Your best bet is to buy a used higher quality reel.

People know as soon as some people open their mouth and I'm not putting all young people in this group just a select few.

Get rid of the fish ID mode , it is very unreliable and shows false readings of fish.

Sadly I bought a shock and found it only good for cranks , stick with the regular lightning rod , it's an all around better rod to throw differant baits with.

Berkley Lightning rod , 40.00. Can't beat it for a cheaper rod. Stay away from ugly stix.

There are so many rods in that price range that are better than the GL2 but it's your money.

Nothing is going to go wrong with your ugly stik , it's almost unbreakabele and it's ok for people who aren't into bass fishing too seriously. It really is at the bottom of the barrel for bass fishing but thats all some people need.

Decent reel ,rod sucks though. JMO

Try bothways. Slower. Black/chat will work. The size of the weight depends on how deep your fishing and I personally don't peg.
