  12. Positive about the overkill. I' ve caught quit a few pike and muskie on 2500 reels but buy what you feel comfortable with.
  13. I have the e20 reel and find it to be a very capable reel , just a little heavy but it gets the job done. A very good drag.

  19. Baitcasting is hard for a beginner to learn . The learning curve for a spinning outfit is much , much easier. How much money do you want to spend ? A decent beginner rod you can get for around forty dollars (Berkley Ligtning rod) and a decent spinning reel would run you about sixty dollars (Pflueger President 6730x).
  20. Since you don't fish much at all , just about anything will do but the size of those Penn reels are definately an over kill.
  21. A nice pudgy bass , probably 1.5-2.0 lbs.
  22. Don't worry , he'll eventually catch his first and you can show him off here.
