  1. My problem is this. With the hook already on an o-ring attached to the bait. There is already quite a bit of rotation. Not sure how much, but I bet 180 already. How much more do you need? I would be afraid that when the hook tries to bite that it would rotate away from the mouth as well?.. I could be way wrong, but at the price they want for them. I will let others try them firsts.. Just my opinion.
  2. with water temps that low, I would aim towards some sort of flat sided crankbait. it will have a tighter wobble that will work better in these cooler temps. As for brand and color. That can change from hour to hour as far as sunlight/cloud cover changes. In clear water, stick to something natural. Sunfish/Perch might be a very good bet. Bandit Shallow flatside, or Rapala Flatside DT3 would be good ones to try.
  3. I think one of the most important things is to have a great crankbait rod. Many a fish can be never hooked or lost with improper weighted and action rods.
  4. Have you tried to do a seminar night? Each of you could be in charge of a seminar and have the public come. You could thank your sponsors there. Or do seminars on their products. You could do boat landing cleanings in name of the sponsor. Ect..
  5. Welcome to the Family... I have an 07 Puma 250XS and love it..
  6. Like others have said.. Does it really matter?.. It shouldnt. If I were you and you needed a "title".. I would say if you are making money and have sponsors.. you can be a Semi-pro.. its what I tell people when they ask.
  7. I know of no vid online, but the concept is somewhat simple. Start with about a foot of line off the end of the rod to the lure. Swing the lure forward and all the way around much like a ferris wheel and have the lure gain speed all the way. Releasing as the lure gets back to just short of parallel to the water again. Dont expect a ton of distance, but you can at times even get the lure to skip this way as long as your thumb is on that spool so it doesnt overrun. Keep in mind this is a side arm cast. make sure you do not hit your t-moter head... just a heads up.
  8. as a few others have said. I dont think what you are trying to do is accruately possible. A shorter rod will not really help in this stiuation, I would work on a side arm roll cast. I think that will be your best bet.
  9. As others have said, it sounds like the handle is not tight.
  10. Thank you Hawk.. it was a fun set up.. had to get there quite early and the photographer was in the water with waders on.. here is another once the light got up a little higher.
  11. ok, now that I have this figured out.. this makes me smile.
  12. My boat has a 55 gal tank, but for the most part is only filled about 1/2 way for weight.
  13. Hope this works.. Did a film shoot with a pro photographer for some sponsors. oops, nevermind, it wouldnt let me post picts till I had 10 post. one more try.
  14. if you take any off the bill it will change its diving depth. But yes it can be done. I have changed quite a few of mine, even changed the angle of the bill.. be prepared to ruin a few before you get it right.
  15. Salt is added for the most part to add weight, not taste. Adding salt to the outside of the lure would do nothing, as it would fall off as soon as it hit the water.
  16. I think people most get hung up with fan casting once they dont have a mental target to cast towards. Fishing is still fishing. It doesnt matter if you have 30 feet of line out and its only 2 feet deep or 30 feet of line out and its 20 feet deep. You still have to cast at a target and work the lure/presentation affectively. In my opinion, if you are serious about becoming a better deep water angler, as the above poster talks about.. Getting to know your electronics is key, having an underwater camera to back up what your electronics may even be more key.
