If munee wuzunt an ishew....
If cash flow was not an issue, but the old ball and chain said you could only have one rod & reel, what would you have for largemouth bass? Please include brand name and specs and maybe a reason or two.

Carolina Rig Rod
Carrot Sticks are nice feelin' rods. I would look out for anything 7 feet long and MH w/ fast action, but for your price range St. Croix's Avid is the truth. I own a Mojo Bass by St. Croix and it was well within your price range. For about 200 clams, you can get a Shimano Citica and a Mojo Bass. But the Avid is for sure a step up. Those folks at St Croix do pretty work. ;D

Shimano Citica. Help needed.
If you are gonna cast 1/8 ounce lures, buy a Curado. I save that chore for my Okuma spinning rig w/ 10lb. cajun on it. The Citica is an awsome reel though. I have one on a med-heavy fast action 7ft mojo bass, and it does everything but cast light lures well. It is a great setup for most all of what I do besides busting brush from the shore. For that, I use a 5'6" rod.

The Ten Incher
What size bass are you catching on 10" worms vs. 6-7.5? Will a 10-32oz. bass knock the snot out of the 10" worm???

Zoom Trick Worm
Usually when I fish it with a 1/8 ounce jig, I rip the front third of the worm off. With a texas rig, I use the whole worm w/ 3/16 or 1/4 ounce bullet. I will try wacky and split shot soon though.

Zoom Trick Worm
I have had success texas rigging these, with a weight. It makes the the worms tail stick straight up and bass seem to dig it. I have also fished them with a 1/8th ounce jig on a medium spinning setup w/ 10lb cajun line and that does the trick too. I have caught bass skating them on the surface. This is a worm that I cannot live without. I am thinking about a split shot rig for tomorrow. Has anyone tried this with Zoom's trick worm?

Jitterbug
I have kept a Jitterbug in my box since I was ten years old. That and a Pop-R. When I loose either, I rush to the store to replace it.

Rogue Rods
Has anyone used a Rogue rod? What was your overall impression?

Baby 1-Minus by Mann
I just bought one of these. They have an Elite model that has red hooks with schnazzy paint, but the reviews on Cabelas said that the paint is el-cheap-o; it flakes off really quick. So, I got the older version. What is your experience with either the Baby 1-Minus or the Elite Series Baby 1-Minus?

What are Bass hitting right now?
I caught five largemouth today. All were in less than 10 feet of water & every one absolutely hammered a white Boo-yah spinnerbait. One gold willowleaf w/ one small silver colorado blade. Red strike king trailer hook. BOOYAHH!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Best rod for under $150
For 90 bucks you can get a St Croix Mojo Bass and you'll have some dollars to spare for line and lures.

What are Bass hitting right now?
I am using chartreuse and/or white Booyah spinnerbaits with success. My best this spring was an eight pounder on a pop-r about a week ago. I'll use those again in the morning, but I'll also try weight-free texas rigged pink floating worms, and in general throw everything but the kitchen sink. I have been itchin' to throw a buzzbait lately and I'm sure to tie one on early.

Creme Worms
I have tried the Sinkos and they don't hold up nearly as well as the old Creme worms. These seem to produce just as many fish and come in a ton of colors. Who uses them?

While I do not always fish topwater, when I do, I prefer a Pop-R from Rebel. It has the best acoustics of any popping lure. I have also found that a Jitterbug produces a sound that bass (and me!) like. I love old school lures.

I like this place! I fish for bass from a kayak or the bank. I prefer a Rebel Pop-R to all other lures.
