No really, you're right. My girlfriend of 3 months's dad saw a hickey I gave her. He was cool about it, but still. I won't do it again. I respect her and her parents opinion of me matters too much haha. Scary. I just feel like people need to protect themselves incase of a problem. Been on that same boat, except when it sank I believe you got on a life boat... I went down with the ship haha. You're right. Completely Scary. Up here in Stafford you get chased by rednecks with god knows what kind of weapon. i dont believe youve ever had a girlfriend in your life, ever.........let alone touch one with your mouth. if you had, youd have about 1/4 the posts you do now. Hahahahahahahahaha I was thinking the same thing. ;D ;D ;D

Piece? That single word tells me that you are not mature enough to handle a firearm. Sounds like a 1990's rap video or a bad episode of Miami Vice... : Hahaha, I just watched the new Starsky and Hutch. Snoop said it.

Have any of you had a possible in-home threat that warranted your piece?

To make this thread more interesting, where do you keep them if they're for home defense?

That wasn't the question. I'm sorry, I'm just trying to save you from getting laughed at by the guy at the gun counter on your 18th birthday... As an FFL employee I was trying to set the record straight on your expectations concerning gun age restrictions. I know, I should have worded that differently. I really wasn't trying to sound rude hahaha sorry man. From my understanding, which again, I'm just trying to learn, I can own a handgun, or at least be in possesion of one, if it doesn't leave the house unless to go to a shooting range, show, etc., but I have to have parental consent. I can't buy one either until I'm 21, unless it's a private dealer (18). No CCW unless you're 21 and have a permit. The reason I'm interested in getting a G19 is that my dad is a sports writer and works really late hours, so a lot of the time he isn't home at night. So, in a sense, I'm the man of the house. It's not that I'm worried that I'm not capable of defending myself and family (mother, brother) without one, because I'm 6'2" 210 haha, but it would just be the extra sense of security. Plus I have this like weird tactical mind so it would be a nice fit. If I got one, I would sit everyone down and explain to them how it works, the operation, etc. Yes, I know that a sports writer is pretty much the sweetest possible job, LOL. He meets so many fricken sweet people.

Anyone who owns a handgun, post up what you have. Also specify if it's for home defende, CCW, etc. I wanna get a Glock 19 or a Sig p229 when I'm 18. Maybe a Mossberg 500 tactical too.
  11. Dude, nice fatties man! Sounds like a fun day to me!
  12. Try living in my house, where between my brother and I we go throught two 24 ct. boxes of Eggo waffles....every day.
  13. Literally....
  14. Dude once again, I love that thing.
  15. I'm gettin' a kayak for Christmas, so the James will become a major part of where I fish, not just where I work. Just wanted to share some things that I have learned about catching smallies right under dams, and also see what others have to say. Wading under a dam is so fun! Live minnows on a split-shot rig work well. It's surprising that fish will hit a lure or bait that is in some RAGING water, but they do. Keeping a semi-taught line allows you to stay with the lure. When it comes to artificials, tubes, grubs, and small swimbaits also work. No matter what, the lure will be thrown around, so there's no working the lure on the bottom, unless you're fishing an eddy or a calmer section of the dam. The best lure I have ever found is a Baby Rage Craw on a split-shot. It's absolutely deadly. When it comes to lure size, while bigger lures usually equal bigger fish, that doesn't really apply here (at least for me). One day two Summer's ago, my friend Mike Ostrander and I were fishing at a dam that will remain unnamed. He caught an 18 incher on the smallest minnow we had, while I caught a 17 3/4" on the biggest one. I like to throw 3/8 oz. SK Football jigs with a Baby Craw trailer on a 6'10 MHXF casting rod with 12 lb.co-poly. All my lighter stuff is either thrown on a 6'10 MLXF or a 7' MF spinning rod. So what do you guys like to do and use?
  16. Or ban you for practice? Mmm, yes. I like the sound of that... HAHAHAHAHAHAH that just made my night hahaha I love you man. That was epic.
  17. X2. When I can't catch a bass, I go for some bluegill x 10, sometimes the best thing to do when your not catching much, or just get tired of fishing in general is to hit up some different species.
  18. There's no substitute my friend, trust me.
  19. For me it's soft plastics, jigs, and swimbaits. Rage Craws Jig/Rage Craw Mattlures Baby Bass
  20. Thanks - The first fish was 5-8. I only weighed her because I thought she might be over 6 ! I have a couple of 5's this season and one 7. I was hoping she would fill in that 6 slot. I'm still looking. A-Jay Looks like an AWESOME day. I really like how you take your pictures too. Congrats sir. I appreciate that you mentioned the photos. I often wonder how they are being received by the BS crowd. When fishing solo,(from a canoe) it's just difficult to take a shot that does the fish justice, and my arms are just not long enough. I spend so much effort and time to catch the fish, I had to come up with a way to display them when by myself. I converted the middle seat into a "fish board". I'm playing around with a video set up but I still have a few kinks to work out before they will be suitable for posting. A-Jay It definitely gives the fish justice. I like the look of the wood/black color combination, for some reason it reminds me of fall. Love the pictures!
