  1. Great review! That's a "custom" color, so throw with caution!
  2. NorthStar Original Swim Jig & Flip & Swim in "new gill" - This is what catches most of my fish throughout the year. Nothing swim straighter and lasts longer. Also, the Black Series jig provides a very unqiue look that the fish can't resist. If you're into smallie fishing, or just want to show the largies something different, the hair jig is also a great option.
  3. http://www.northstarbaits.com/catalog/item/6580249/7802703.htm I love the chartreuse/white combo for stained water (assuming it's stained water you're fishing). Add a colorado blade to get some thump with the action, again if the water is stained. Otherwise, if you're fishing clearer water, go with a natural forage bait to imitate what the bass are feeding on.
  4. That is the jig itself. I can't open up the video at work, but the head on the jig is designed to give the trailer that upright position.
  5. 99.9% of the time I have either a 1/4 oz or 3/8 oz NorthStar tied on...Depending on the weather conditions, cover, and depth when I throw each one. Can't go wrong with a swimbait or craw style trailer of your choice...Personally I like the paca craws and big hammer swimbaits.
  6. NorthStar "new gill" original swim jig hands down is my top producer in the spring. I also have really good success throwing jaerkbaits (rouges, pointers, etc) at a slow to fast retrieve, depending on the water temps. The way I look at it is in the spring I like to throw smaller profile baits because of the new born gills/perch swimming around, and larger profile in the fall as they grow up.
  7. Fish them however you like! That is why it's my favorite lure for catching bass. The great thing is that is doubles as a grass jig, so bounce it off of the bottom or swim in through vegetation, either way it will come through clean and catch you big bass all year round.
  8. Sorry Deep, this thread got lost in the shuffle. I can honestly say that I have not thrown the california swim jig, but based on numerous conversations with anglers that have used both, here is the responce: The NorthStar Flip & Swim stays upright more often during the retrieve and does not roll on you. This gives you the ability to chuck & wind all day, with the same productivity as what you would get with the swim jig, but in deeper/heavier vegetation. We're planning on releasing a designated "grass jig" here soon, so stay tuned for that!
  9. We had a great Spring Sale, but that means we need to play catch up! Burtle1, I will send you a PM message when we're back up and running. In the meantime, you can order our products at TW.com Also, check out our facebook page for contests and updates.
  10. Yes. Unfortunately we cannot get that skirt in at this time, but I will try and get back to you when they're back up.
  11. The free shipping over $50 is after the discount is applied.
  12. It was 10% off. Send Chris an email to cdemars316@yahoo.com for the 15% off code.
  13. NorthStar new gill swim jig, wiggle wart, and LC Pointer in female bluegill pattern.
  14. NorthStar Custom Baits - original swim jig, spinnerbaits, flip & swim, and Black Series. Netbait Paca Craws are my favorite trailer.
  15. There isn't anyone more passionate about fishing, and it shows through his hard work and creativity. Love the show and if I had one person to spend a day fishing with, it would be him.
  16. Correct. I always have a 3/8oz New Gill swim jig tied on and it accounts for at least 75% of my fish ever year...There isn't a blue gill imitation out there like this jig.

  18. That is a good mentality to have...you might lose more jigs, but that's where the big mommas live!
  19. No, I just tie a good palamar knot. Yes, I throw with spinning gear because the spool and line guide on a casting reel freeze up every cast...Made the mistake of driving an hour up to the river and only brought one casting hah.
  20. Has anyone received a Cabelas coupon in the mail lately that they may not be using? I am looking to purchase a shotgun and I know I have seen up to $100 off of $500 or more in the past. Any help would be great! Thanks, VC
  21. We were throwing 3/8 & 1/2 oz depending on the wind. I generally throw hair jigs on 8-10 lb Seaguar flouro
  22. I had to amputate a few fingers after this shoot, so I hope you like it Aaron! hah.
  23. I throw the NorthStar hair jig with great success in the colder months and slooowww down....let the bucktail work by enticing the fish to bite.
  24. I keep mine in sandwich meat containers...They work really well, but sometimes gets hard to find specific jigs. DO NOT put your wet jigs back in the box though...Let them dry out first to prevent deforming and rusting.
  25. 1) BBB Fightin Frog 2) Lake Fork Craw Tube 3) NorthStar KnockOut or Black Series Jigs
