Northstar Black Series Review/testing
Sam, OkeeChobee Flame is probably my favorite color not named new gill. Premier jigs are still going to have their time and place (Faster fall rate) and so I would still get a few replacements my freind.

Boca Bearings
Do you take the seals off? Or can I just coat the outside and it will absord into the bearing?

Boca Bearings
I got the OS ceramic Abec 7's...I am thinking I will start dry for now...what signs should I be looking for that will tell me to lubricate?

Boca Bearings
Just bought a few sets to replace my stock bearings, but I have never done this project yet. I have gotten mixed messages on forums - some say to put them in dry, while others say to lightly lubricate...What are your thoughts? I have some hot sauce that I can put on them. Thanks, VC

Swim Baits
What type of swimbaits are you refering to? Color is a very small variable in the bass chess game, but firetiger is generally for deeper water or when the water clarity is dirty-stained. Bluegill, or natural patterns, are good to throw in clearer water to try and trick the bass into thinking the bait is a part of the natural forage. BTW, is that not you in your avatar? Your PB says 5-6 lbs and that is just a tad bigger

All You Need To Know About Swim Jigs - Video Tutorial
That is a great observation.Generally the bass around here smack the swim jigs as hard as they can...when you get that slack hit it's either a pike/muskie. The only time you will get something in-between is when it's a bluegill/perch nipping at your baits or running off with your trailer.

Dobyns 805 Rm Cb Disappointment
I thought this was a popular rod!

Dobyns 805 Rm Cb Disappointment
Just got this rod in and I was able to try it for the first time today and I was VERY disappointing. First of all it feels like a broom stick and doesn't have ANY vibration on the tip of the rod, so I can even tell if my crank is running, or stuck up in weeds. I got the rod because I heard it was great for fishing deep cranks in vegetation, but again I was not very impressed....The reason for so much disappointment is that I was recommended this rod by many people and never saw a bad review...Am I the only person who has thrown this rod to not like it? What are your experiences? Thanks, VC

Pretty Cool Gopro Video..
Just got this fish yesterday on a twin cities area lake. This fish just slammed my bait (as you can tell from my reaction). This was actually our only fish of the night that wasn't on a NorthStar swim jig/flip & swim, but she wanted that craw tube bad! If you like this video please subscribe to our Youtube page as we will continue to post videos not only about NorthStar products, but tutorials that will help you become a better angler. Thanks, VC

Northstar Black Series Review/testing
Branden Schultz, who is a NorthStar contributor, had the opportunity to test and review our up coming Black Series jigs over the weekend. Here are a few pictures of the damage he was able to do and a review that Branden wrote up on his experience. Enjoy! "My first thought after seeing the new black series jig was being impressed with the overall thickness of the jig. The extra strands really fill out the jig and I like the bulkiness. The head had a nice matte finish and the hook was nice and sturdy. After I saw the jig in the water I knew it was a winner. The outside rubber skirting flared out while the inside silicone skirting staid nice and compact. This jig has a different look than any other I have seen and to say i was impressed is an understatement. It looks much more "alive" in the water and has great action. Another thing I noticed was the fall rate of this jig was slightly slower than a regular jig, like a premier, for example. The bulkiness really helps slow down the fall rate which is perfect for pitching around shallow cover. This way I can use a 1/2oz black series jig, which is easier to pitch than say a 3/8oz jig, but still have similar fall rates. This gives the fish more time to react to the lure as its coming down into the water column. Also the 1/2oz will fall better into cover and not get hung up as much since there is more weight to the jig. Giving the fish a slightly new look is a big bonus when fishing any water. With the black series you can use a well known big fish lure, the jig, with a new look that will tempt fish into biting. After fishing the black series extensively for a week I can tell you that this jig was getting bite when other jigs would not produce."

A Jig Question....
I only use a football head jig when working rocks and for the most part all I am doing is draggin (hence the nickname roller jig) the bait over the rocks...most of bites come right off the bottom because the fish hold pretty tight to the rocks in the middle of summer, so if you're having a hard time getting a bite either slow down or find a different area that is close to a weedline. Also, I like to throw a NorthStar Custom Baits football hair jig to give the fish a different look.

Looking For A Certain Style Of Jig.
That top secret jig looks like a punching jig...do they make it in that small of sizes? I would recommend checking out the NorthStar Flip & Swim jig...Hand tied and painted with a beefy musted hook to pull them out of heavy cover. The neat thing about this jig is it's also designed to be swam in like our swim jigs, without rolling. VERY versitile. Chris is known for taking good care of his customers, so there shouldn't be a problem accomidating the sizes you're looking for.

Brush Hog On A Football Jig
I like to throw a Netbait Mad Paca on a football jig becuase it's just a little wider than a Brush Hog...if you can rig it and present it in the way they want...you will get bit with either one.

Frog Colors?
Do a search and you will find hundreds of frog color threads....pearl belly is all I throw in sunny conditions, white in the morning, and black in low light/cloudy conditions.
