maxima is decent ,and ive tried triple fish it sucks, i still think yozuri is the best copoly for the money,all of those are available @ *** i believe,ive had questions about stuff they had and called and they where happy to answer ? and help me out.

it should only last a little while cxx is a tank of a line it can and will haul and handle most anything i to also like trilene 100% flour.,but if all else fails just tie a swivel on to a tree and walk out the line till its all good.

Don't misunderstand, I have no stock in Pure Fishing so there isn't any financial incentive on my part. I just don't experience the problems many others seem to have and thought I might be of assistance. As far as problems casting a variety of baits as mentioned. I have no reason to lie, not even puff the facts a bit. I learned to cast on the ABU 5500C some 35+ years ago. I think a lot of problems people have is based upon poor lessons. If you like the JM reels and they do the job for you, that's the biggest part of the game. amen...as the saying goes....what works for one might or mightnot work for another....either brake is fine for me i dont care to me its all in the operators hand ,or thumb

make sure you fill/glue any holes or gaps that stinger hook made,or you might take a chance of getting water in the frog which in turn will throw the action all off and it will sink on you,that inturn will pi55 you off

i could agree with this,being new to fishing he might not be familiar with how to set and use the drag on a spinning reel,a spinning reel set up you use the pole to muscle in and land the fish the reels is just there to pick up line,a baitcaster set up however the reel in that case is used to fight and land the fish.i know confusing but maybe "middle of the road" might be good for a first timer....like a med.action rod and a size 2000-2500 spinning reel. with some 4-6 lb. test fishing line.

theres a few reasons,one being personal experiance alot of ppl will tell you on here or most any other tackle site that Quantum stuff don't last long,breaks often and easy and their customer service is noted as being the worst out there.Ill admit there reels look nice but looks aint everything,if you dont know Zebco the king of spincasters owns quantum zebco is a HUGE company so youd think that quantum (zebcos cadilac line) would be par none,but ask alot of guys on here or go read reviews on other sites and youll see what ppl go through with quantum reels breaking after 1 season ALOT of problems with gears grinding and then their famous customer service ;D ...thats just my opinion,im sure others will agree or disagree but you buy what you like and what works and performs for you i guess and for me quantum dont work or perform.

for skipping i dont see it being that much of a difference from xfast-fast,besides every rod companies action varies.it all depends on your arm/wrist actions to me the heavier/slower action the more you have to work and snap your arm/wrist,and opposite the lighter/faster action.what you got will do just fine,now good luck on mastering the art of dock skipping!!!

x2 lol...trout or ultralight rods are waaaaay fun for bass fishing a 3-5lb. fish feels like your fighting a shark.hope he enjoys it and it turns him to the "baitmonkey" haha.
