  1. hey chi how do you like that cabelas mag touch?it remenids me of the lamiglas rod.dunno if i could get used to that carbon grip though and it being skinny
  2. LOL that's funny 80,000 don't mean squat in this industry. The Viento® is a gimmick just like the Megaforce® with Twitchin' Bar.. They were built with lazy anglers in mind... Tight Lines!!! aww common rm you mean you dont want one to fish with?so you can use one hand all day and sit in your lawnchair and drink with the other hand,or do whatever else you do with your other hand ;D ;D
  3. i was looking @ those to on TW.have you had success on the hudd. bug?
  4. to much work, get the pro-tec pwder coat jigpaint from basspro, heat up your weight with a lighter dip it in the powder and BAM your done.they have it in about 8-10 colors,candy/glitter ones too.
  5. i got 4 of these and their crap .go spro or reaction strike.
  6. have any of you ever used these(river2sea super yabbie)? i want a good craw that looks real for some crystal clear water we found up here, the video of these looks promising,id eat it if i was a fish CHOMPPP!!! http://www.***.com/descpageRIVERSOFT-R2SSY.html# they also have it without the weedguards.i think i hear baitmonkey and hes shouting "stock-up"
  7. good to go ace,but for me i prefer a 7'6" for topwater/frogs.
  8. me either, neat idea but seems kinda cheap and like it always goes, the more things it has,the more for it to break.
  9. depends on my mood, sometimes ill castout and let it sit there for a few seconds sometimes minutes b4 i start to reel,as for rod tip i kind of do suttle little jerks if its like a senko or wacky.if its a lizard on a c-rig then ill just reel in slowly with a stop n go feeling the bottom and if i feel it going over structure like down trees, big rocks ill slowly pull it over and stop to let it flutter on the drop.and I ALWWAYS use diff.retrieves and patterns on diff. plastics.also depends on the water color and weather or not its wavy or not that day and how the fish are biting that day, some days its s-l-o-w others it ripp'n them through cover.
  10. 5" casting spoons rip'n them through shallows, that or the weedless spoons with a 5" porkstrip on it,bass hammer in on that one.
  11. dobyns warranty is pretty hard to beat.
  12. i wouldnt say you should have to twitch yer rod for it to drop,i started out setting my knob right at the point when i had it the bait would slowly drop on its own and when it hit the ground the spool would stop at that point.try setting your cast knob like that see if it helps,if not then your lure is to light.
  13. man talk about a mark up :-?
  14. i use my same leader till i get about 18-20" to my main line then ill cut it off and put a new one on,or if it gets all knicked up then i swap out asap.
  15. the baby action cat? i like this bait to works wonders on weedlines :-X also alot of luck so far this season with crazy legs chiggers
  16. green pump. and white all the way
  17. depends, are you crankn open waters or near structures and blowdowns or whatever. if open yea, id maybe go 12lb like uic if structure id go 15lb.i use 15lb fluoro for mine (trilene 100% fluoro) also have a shallow crank/wakebait set up with 12lb yozuri.
  18. my neighbor has done this to a few of his rods and rather the clearcoat or epoxy for the exposed blank he just gets some black cork tape (thin,i beleive its used for bike handlebars) and puts it on the open blank,to me i dont see why he goes to all that work to then put a thin layer or tape on the blank but eh i dont say anything lol.looks cool though.for me id rather just go buy a new rod with a split grip.makes the baitmonkey happy too.
  19. i just think its easier done with spinning imo,i get to many birdnests tryn to skip on my bc's.sometimes its all about finesse and bc's arnt the greatest in the finesse area my sol is ok at it but id still rather a openface for that.and when the winds are blowing in hardcore a openface will out perform a bc anyday imo.but to each his own they both have places in my fishing.
  20. right there...cant do ul with a baitcaster, atleast not without backlash city and day full of swearing haha.i like them both sometimes its nice to switch it up and have a different feeling.and you also dont see to many baitcaster ice fishing setups ;D
  21. i like pline cxx and maxima makes a decent line.but sometimes if you go to dicks and ask them if they can stock or order certain tackle they sometimes will, the one i live by i got them to order lucky strike bass magic swimbaits, now they always have them.otherwise check arounf you for local ma n pop tackle shops see if they have it,or will order it for you.
  22. picked one up for the pops and i ended up grabn one myself after i handled it.what a great rod i like the looks of it and it feels really great in your hands the guys @ the counter said the action on them is unlike others and they load up great.for the price they say its a steal on a rod like that,i have to agree, with the lifetime warranty(a no questions warranty you mail them the shipping fee they send you a new rod,no inspecting it first and all that crap).also grabbed a powell max....baitmonkey is bad so far this season!!!!
  23. 3 times but with 2 setups one was a hollow frog setup cast it allday and if i got a hit and no hookset then i threw a senko right after did that for 9 hours for 3 days was fun but i felt naked with only 2 baits to choose from
  24. x2,and if your worried about slipping or strength i will sometimes add a dab of super glue to the knot.
  25. i bought 3 of them they are pretty much same as a spro except the bottom has a more angled point to the head and it has a small "drain" on it (sort of like a check valve where water only goes out not in) other then that the action and everything is the same as all hollow frogs i like spro better plus waaaaay more colors to choose from
