  1. on spinning pline cxx is nasty with line memory,i stick with yozuri, original trilene i also have some maxima that is pretty good, but i just grabed some daiwa steez fluoro for my spinning rigs and i like it alot.my buddy uses daiwa samurai braid on his spinning and he swears by it,its SUPER soft almost feels like silk and he has excellent hook up ratios.
  2. x2...id also go look @ cabelas they have the xml series on a HUGE crazy sale now orig. a $140 rod now marked down to $40 those are great rods and at that price...talk about a steal.also has the split grips http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=cat20166-cat20372_TGP&id=0053033122637a&navCount=7&podId=0053033&parentId=&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=&indexId=cat20372&hasJS=true
  3. mine handles braid fine and has for years now...forgot to tell you that though bout the mojos i used fluoro on mine either yozuri or cxx, never put braid on any of my mojos.but the carrot stick will handle it fine, besides it has a lifetime warranty.
  4. zebcos rule for "ping" shot fishing!!!!! ;D go position yerself near a dock or over hanging trees push the zebco thumb release and grab yer line till your rod arcs and "ping" shoot your bait under the dock/overhangs...i still do this with the kids poles at the subdivision pond lmao reminds me of being 10 again.
  5. i have a carrot stick as well i love my mojos dont get me wrong but the carrot stick is WAY more sensitive and light, you can feel any and everything on a c.stick, even a minnow farting ;D.the choice is yours they are both good sticks but the carrot stick yes is more sensitive imo.but mojo gets the cake for looking better
  6. i use 2..a falcon bucoo 7'h abu revo sx and 30lb power pro and a 7'mh kistler carbon steel shimano citica 200e 15lb yozuri.
  7. keep it,i used to have the same set up but recently traded it (only due to the fact i have a few mojos and just wanted something different).but it worked great for me and held up awesome and pulled some nice fish out of nasty junk.it also doubled for me as a topwater and spinnerbait rod for awhile.
  8. nothing beats yozuri imo,but 8lb should be fine on a 2500,but also depends on what yer fishing with (tackle) and if the lake your going on is dirt/sand or is it rock filled with heavy grass and down timbers, then id go up on the line #.
  9. talk about a steal...id jump on this but i just ordered some falcon bucoos and if the wife sees ups dropn off more "long" tubes shell hang me haha.
  10. x2,and they are easier to hold/palm and more comfortable on long days of fishing.roundies are tanks and built to take beatings and ment to winch in the big girls from the nastiest slops and downs imaginable
  11. i like the manns phat rat, hard to find though.i know heddon makes a decent hard body mouse.
  12. x2,love it!!!! i use 15lb for everything works for me
  13. some ppl fish by watching their line others by feel..making a statement that cause of his line he needs to find a new hobbie...dude your a nitwit, anywaysmy fishing partner uses that line and thinks the same, that it will spook the fish,so what he does is the night b4 hell take a 10-12' section of it and dip it in red spike it dye, works for him,he gets hits and brings in the fish, only down side to it imo is that your line stinks like garlic and could make your reel stink.he said hes going to try food dye next time.
  14. x2,my dad got one in 97 it took a sh!@ in 2005,now hes got a stratos (d@mn sexy boats).id keep the lund, they are built like hummers and its ment for deeper rough water (erie) my pops nitro was more ment for shallows and flats,in the deep it was a rough ride and taking big waves all your stuff was gettin soaked.just my $.02
  15. from tw... http://www.***.com/descpageHDSB-HHB.html http://www.***.com/descpageSOFTREACTS-RSDP.html#pImage http://www.***.com/descpageDAMSOFT-DAMM.html#pImage http://www.***.com/descpage-NBMP.html http://www.***.com/descpageMSB-MVBB.html http://www.***.com/descpageSFRBERKLEY-BPCL http://www.***.com/descpageEGS-EGMR.html and last but not least http://www.***.com/descpageGAMBSOFTB-GRTT.html now let baitmonkey take over and fill that cart ;D
  16. im not to fond of gander housebrand stuff imo its just not quality,if you have a basspro or cabelas near you imo i think youd be better off going with one of there combos, only for the fact that they have more to offer you, have specific combos for whatever your targeting or tackle your using also their warranties and customer service/help i would think will be better then gander, but thats just my $.02,i also find that gander is overpriced ALOT,atleast the one by me is.heres the link for that reel for anyone else http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?r=view&i=410568&pdesc=Gander_Mountain_Tournament_Baitcast_Reel&merchID=4005&str=410568&from=search p.s i also wouldnt want a baitcaster with a graphite frame, thats doomed to failure if you use it alot and are catching large fish,it will flex all sorts of funky ways with it being a graphite frame, try to find an aluminum frame in a baitcaster.
  17. after seeing the quality of rods flechero builds and his knowledge id go with what he says. :-X
  18. wow that thing is huge.that thing is going to get hammered HARD!!!!
  19. just ordered a 7h for my new flippin rig, cant wait.i saw in another post some guys had gotten them from tw recently so im sure reviews will be posted soon.
  20. I like the way the carbon steel rods feel but just can't seem to get over the cork/foam handle, same with the Airrus Co-Matrix i felt the same to,i traded one of my mojos for the kistler but the handle is actually very comfortable i now like it and the rod blank is really sweet looking and out of all my rods that one has some of the strongest backbone for a low priced rod.this is my first kistler but its not going to be my last.
  21. well designed by spro LOL, it looks basically the same as the bronzeye. :-? pretty much i have some of these only big difference is a check valve type drain on the mad maxx and it has a keel type head
  22. st.croix mojo,or x2 on the falcon bucoo,i also just got my hands on a kistler carbon steel, awesome rod for the price.both the falcon and kistler have lifetime warr. the mojo has a 5 yr.
  23. x2,but to me avid has a slight lead imo.
