welcome to the help group! Stay out of the tackle and for sale sections lol
  5. power/weight lol... But looks like a fun truck nonetheless, and is a good choice for pulling the boat around. Looks like you have other toys to go fast in. what blower do you have on it? I love the sound of a blown car.
  6. new camaro isn't bad, but d**n, is it big! lol. I love the look of a lotus... not a very expensive car, but it's something that you don't see very often, and when I do, I usually mumble a "Wow, check that out."
  7. hootcrazed is WELL known for selling bogus "real" baits... I got a bunch of "rapalas" (20 of them for 99 cents, not from hootcrazed) While they work ok, they don't suspend at all, and they are very fragile. I bumped one on a dock the first time using one and it cracked in half.
  8. great, looks like it was in kearny yesterday, figured it would have come today. I guess tomorrow! Like I told people in pm's, if it comes tomorrow I won't be able to get it out till monday with the holiday and I won't be around Friday. Just keeping the lines of communication open.
  9. the fish that get hooked deep are usually from the inexperienced anglers who don't know how to recognize a bite like someone who fishes more often would. It would be the same thing with plastics. When I'm fishing with my girlfriend, (which is rare lol) she doesn't know she has a fish, ever, till she starts reeling in and it's heavy. Results in a gut hook, because the hook was never set like it should have been. I only use live bait for panfish, and with those lil suckers there's no mistaking a hit especially if you're using an ul rig.

  12. wow, great job. Sorry to hear that happened though, i'm sure that can't be a good feeling. And hopefully you don't get that underwear back lol
  13. Great, looking forward to it! Depending when it comes, obviously I may have a day or 2 delay because of thanksgiving, and I have a wedding on friday. So I'll keep everyone posted, and will get it out as soon as possible.
  14. I got a full wheel setup last year, tires and rims for about 5xx shipped from tirerack. After driving on winter wheels, I would NEVER go back to not using them... seriously, if I couldn't afford it I would work some overtime or something. What a difference! we had a big ice storm last year, my buddy left his truck at work and drove up the mountain in my car. The whole time he was saying "It's not that bad, I should have just drove". I pulled over, he got out, and we proceded to slide around on the ice and almost bust our butts lol...Got back in the car, and pulled away like it was dry.
  15. Saw this on another site, thought it was funny http://video.yahoo.com/network/100284668?v=6353208&l=4418225
  16. Great fish!! You southern boys are funny, getting chilly lol! what was it, 65?? ;D
  17. For many of us up north, we're getting to that time of year where it's getting cold, and the snow will be coming soon. (I had 3 1/2 inches in the 2nd week of october!!) Please remember to check your tires and make sure you have good tread, and make sure you're not planning on driving in the cold with summer only tires. Don't think that just because you have a truck you don't need good tires for winter. Who makes up the vast majority of winter accidents? Trucks & suv's with people that think because they have a truck they're safe. I've put my car to the test with many people who felt that way, and the fact of the matter is a car with good snow tires will accelerate better, turn better, stop sooner, and all around be safer. Don't risk yours, others, and your families lives to save some money. With less than 8 inches on the ground, if you were in my car with your eyes shut you would have no clue that there was snow. If you're concerned about dishing out the money, just think of it this way: by having an extra set of wheels, your wheels are really lasting twice as long. So, you're not really spending any "extra", and you'll be safe all year. Many sporty cars these days come with summer only tires. They get very hard in the winter because they're not designed for cold. (think plastic big wheel tires.... you pedal, and pedal, and the tires only spin) If you're not sure, a quick google search will tell you what your tires are designed for. Thanks for reading!
  18. yea, it should be ready pretty quickly, especially if they had planned to stock it. Think fishtank, or koi pond.... almost as soon as you fill it up, you can put the fish in. Most of the time you just wait for the water temp. to even out.
  19. If i'm not in real heavy cover, i like to use a 3/0 gammie ewg. If i'm in heavier cover, or weedy areas, I like to use an 1/8 oz keel weighted hook. The light weight is not enough to sink the bait too fast, it adds distance, and it falls/lands much like a football jig with the hook always facing up, which really helps to minimize your snags.
  20. not true at all.you've never seen where a guy wastes an hour trying to get a bedding bass to bite in a tournament?sometimes they bite and sometimes they don't. that's the rare exception. If you make a ruckus by the bed, majority of the time it's going to bite. While fish in any stage are not 100% predictable, you have an extremely high chance of catching a bedding fish
  21. I wouldn't call bedding bass "finicky". Their out to protect the eggs, and will eat pretty much anything that crosses their path. Any bait put in their face should do the trick.
  22. I don't consider it cheating at all. I mostly use them when going for bluegills, perch, trout, etc. Too many panfish to even attempt to catch a bass on my lakes with live. But if the bass bite is slow, i'll throw on a nightcrawler and get the lil guys every cast. I like catching fish, and while it's very easy (i don't believe with above about it being difficult. Anyone can throw on some live bait and get fish close to every cast, provided there's fish) it's still fun. Get a short ul pole, and a big perch is a blast! As far as it being cheating, above had a great post. How can anyone that goes out with a depthfinder or all the other tools we use on a regular basis say using live bait is cheating lol... come on.
  23. couldn't tell you if that one is any good or not. But with that type of "hook" you can put it through the gil and weigh it that way. You don't want to ever pierce a fish for the sake of weighing it unless you plan on keeping it. (which is frowned upon) Any time I get a new scale, I measure it's accuracy with a few weights. That was I know if it's accurate, and if it's not what it's off by.
  24. wow, that's a great fish!
