  1. p.s. the northerns we were taking in all day. walleye was best early in the morning, and at dark. we got the most after dark. only thing is you don't want to be too far from camp without any nav tools, because once dark hits it all looks the same, and you can't exactly ask someone for directions lol.
  2. here's a vid of the flight in. it may play a commercial first, hang tight! VIDEO MAY BE NOT WORK SAFE BECAUSE OF LINKS ON THE PAGE!! Sorry, didn't realize till after I posted it! http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/travel/watch/v155366259cHafs49

  4. d**n it, i made this huge post but it wouldn't go because i put pics of our fish we caught!!! grrrr... we went to gouin last year, also in july and killed em. spinnerbaits only for the northerns, and nightcrawlers for the walleye. throw the spinnerbaits by the weeds along shore and out they come! they didn't take ANYTHING besides the spinners and nightcrawlers. once we learned that, we didn't switch anything at all and caught them nonstop. we got decent northerns to the point that we got bored and decided to go get some walleye for dinner. best fish I ever had! was a great trip. once I get some more posts i'll put the pics up. which outfitter are you going with?
  5. i haven't noticed any difference between the front or the back. just because someone is 10 feet in front of you doesn't mean they've pulled out every fish that is there.
  6. I have been fishing here and there for my whole life, (maybe 2-3 times a year at best) but was never anything more than throwing out whatever bait was tied on the line. In the last few months, I have gotten more into it, and have been doing research, and have learned more than i have over my entire life. This site is great, learning about fish behavior, why they bite, when they bite, where they like to go in the water. Trial and error for something like that would take a very long time. Also great for researching baits. Before the internet, you bought something you wanted to try, maybe talked to a few local guys about it, and asked the guy at the shop. Now you can look up reviews from all over the world, get tips about how to use the bait, and see what others have done with it. That being said, for me the internet and especially this site will be huge in my progress.
  7. He got 6 nightcrawlers with minimal effort while his perch buddies chased minnows all day. Sounds pretty smart to me. guess it depends how you look at it. the article is about how the bass are smart enough to not get caught.
  8. i've had some good luck with spinnerbaits on the largemouth. one of the things I like about them is you can cover so much more area in less time.
  9. over the weekend i was fishing nightcrawlers off the dock, and caught the same stupid 4 inch perch about 6 times in a row haha. throw the line in, didn't matter where, and the thing would go and take the hook! I would see the perch go for it, and try to get the line away but it was quick. guess the perch aren't as smart.
  10. after reading all the great reviews (on this site and others) about rage tail, i bought the space monkey's yesterday. also got a bag of senkos, and yamo kreatures. can't wait to test them out
  11. opening trout day this year, I pulled out 8 in the first 8 casts. was great, everyone up and down the stream was watching because they weren't getting anything. we just had the right spot! Tried to post a pic but it wouldn't let me because i'm new. it was just rediculous though haha. At one point I had a snag, was getting it un-tangled and bam! got another!

Hey guys, signed up today and wanted to introduce myself. I recently moved to sussex county and have found myself fishing alot more, and now i'm wanting to learn as much as I can instead of just throwing in my line and hoping to catch something. Read lots of good info so far, and hope to keep learning!
