  1. I own several curados of various ages and wear. I also have several revos. Both are fine reels, but if i could only choose one, it would be the curado- hands down. Smoothest most durable reel i have owned. My two cents.
  2. I have been an avid fly fisherman for years and have recently started bassin with traditional tackle. When i read the article i realized i had been doing the same thing for years with the fly rod. So last night i spooled up some power pro 8/30# and addedd a 8# flouro leader. I didn't take into account the zero stretch of the braid and broke off three fish on the hookset before i realized i was fishing with zero stretch line. Once i got that figured, i think i am sold on the idea. Seems to work well and cut down on the number of rods i tend to carry.
  3. I fish a small (500acre) resevoir that is fed by a major river system. As such, the bass are where the bait is and with the flow of the river through the resevoir the bait is constantly moving. I am more familiar with resevoirs and lakes that do not have continual current to deal with. I need any tips and tactics for locating bass and bait with consistency. The primary forage base is gizzard shad and bluegill. Some days i kill them, other days i can't get bit. No consistency like i have with the more familiar static bodies of water. any thoughts???
  4. I am in the market for a fishfinder. I mostly fish smaller ponds, less than 50 acres. I do occassionally fish big water. And i am a bit of tech fan. I am looking for a fishfinder with GPS capability, high pixels, trolling motor mount, and dependable for $500 or less. I am starting fresh in this search, so any opinions on manufacturers, color vs. B/W, side sonar, etc is welcome. The unit will be mounted in my v-hull bass destroyer. What do you guys like and what would you avoid. Thanks for any help. Bass Bum
