  1. I traded my bass boat in on a deep V last fall. Man I miss that boat. The new one has plenty of room for the family. Did I mention I miss my bass boat?
  2. Unfortunately, you won't know your "limits" until you find them.
  3. That's funny. Almost pee'd my pants on that one.
  4. That might be a little awkward with all the houses close to shore. I've seen people sitting with binoculars and watching guys fish.
  5. I try not to drink much coffee or water if I plan on staying out very long. How long can you go without a pee break? The lakes I fish wouldn't be good for trying it in the boat.
  6. The female bass will be the one telling you "YOU'RE DOING IT ALL WRONG"
  7. Me too. I have no desire to be a stunt pilot.
  8. It works very well, but why is it just for newbies?
  9. I prefer to deep fry in peanut oil. If you get the oil to temp before you drop it in, the fish doesn,t absorb the oil. I use Drakes and replace the water with beer. It makes a light crispy coating. Sometimes keeping it simple is best.
  10. There can't possibly be anything left resembling a fish with all of that on it and certainly nothing healthy.
  11. Cable doesn't self center. It stays where you left it. Electric steer sucks. My new boat came with electric steer. After three trips, I replaced it with a Fortrex. It's awesome. Bob
  12. You're probably right. I was surprised to see what appeared to be an oil slick on the water when I sprayed my lure in the wind.
  13. Actually, I have never used it. I just don't see it as a big deal. I have used lure spray and it appears to be petroleum based from the slick it leaves on the water. Can't say if works since I catch the same with or without it.
  14. My wife did the same thing to me last week end. I caught two dinks. She said make me a drop thing. A what? You mean a drop shot? I rigged one for her and the first cast she pulled up a 4 pounder. She was good about it and didn't rub it in tooo much.
  15. I think a few minutes of boating puts more garbage in the water than a whole can of wd-40. Does anyone know what's in the lure spray? It has to be some type of oil to keep it from washing off instantly. It does leave an oil slick when it lands on the water. There's probably more water polution done by backing your truck and trailer in the water than can be done with a thin film of wd-40 on a Senko.
  16. Did you ever give a short spray of lure scent in the water. It makes a huge oil slick. It's probably the same stuff.
  17. I also got married in 1969. I did things different than you. I bought a fixer upper house, had 2 used cars and no boats. I have paid cash very few times but the debt I have is low. I'm picking up my new boat on Saturday along with a payment book. I lived the good life too. The good life to me was coming home after work to two little girls waiting for me at the door. The best times of my life. I don't know the statistics, but I'll bet there are probably a thousand boats financed for every one cash bought. It is a problem when people buy things on credit just because they can. That's when things go bad.
  18. Oh yeh, and if you ask them, they'll send you a few hundred more.
  19. I watched a guy with about a 24' cabin boat give full throttle trying to load it when he wasn't anywhere deep enough with his trailer. I yelled to him and he gave me some one finger sign language and continued on until his buddy finaly backed the trailer out deeper. He really tore things up.
  20. Being in debt is a status symbol. If you ain't in debt, you ain't nobody. One more thing, I'll be financing my new boat this week.
  21. I had the same thing happen last week end. Earlier in the year I hooked one in the lip. As I reeled it in it looked dead. I put it in the live well for a few minutes and it was just fine and splashing around like nothing happened.
  22. I've been doing this for a long time. I put a weight about 15" above the hook and a bobber about 30" above that. I cast to the shallows and reel slowly over the drop off and weeds. I first tried it to make it easy for my grand son but soon found out this really works good. My wife and I were out last week end and caught 12 in less than 4 hrs. Lost a couple big ones at the boat. Bob
  23. Not much better than in my frying pan.
