  1. Almost every bass I've caught in the last 3 yrs. were on a senko. The red would never produce, not a bite, but the pumpkin would do real good. A couple weeks ago I couldn't get a bite on my favorite pumpkin senko so I pulled out a red one and caught 3 on 3 casts.
  2. I just reel him in with steady pressure and let the hook set itself. I like a smaller hook with a Senko.
  3. I took my grand kids blue gill fishing last week end. I put a pumpkin senko under a bobber and in no time I had a 5.5 pound LM. Caught a few others in the 2-4 lb range also. You really don't need to do anything but sit back and watch the bobber. Bob
  4. I've had very few catches early. After 11am the bite gets hot. My PB came at noon. Bob
  5. I caught 4 bass last week end while bluegill fishing with a small hook and red worms 3' under a bobber. I'm old and sore enough that I can't stand up and cast all day like the young pups can. I sure caught a lot of bass last year with 4" pumpkin senko's under a float. When you are as lazy as I am, that's the way to go. Sit back, relax and catch fish.
  6. I wonder what your god thinks about you abusing his creation by stuffing them with hooks, with sometimes fatal results. Bass are no different than any other game. Food.
  7. It's just a fish. How did a bass get appointed to some sort of saint hood? If you don't want to damage them, then don't catch them. You have no problem gut hooking them or ripping their faces half off dragging them through weeds and other structure as long as you release them. What a crock of bs.
  8. I agree. The release everything sounds a little rediculous. I don't understand the big thrill of c&r. Catch and fry.
  9. I usually keep 2 or 3 legal bass each time out for catch and fry.
  10. Home Improvement!!!! The absolute best show in TV's history. More power, it's a guy thing.
  11. Ya won't catch em if ya keep eatin all the bait.
  12. When a bass grows to 10lbs, is it genetics or just a lucky survivor? Is most any bass capable of getting to that weight if it lives long enough?
  13. I don't know about that. Are you sure it's safe? I'll try it but if things go bad, I'm telling her it was all your idea.
  14. I usually keep a couple of legal bass everytime out for the wife and me. There are lots of reasons to go fishing. I just don't understand the release everything way of thinking. You spend a small fortune for boats and gear to catch them and let them go. If it's just the pull on your line that gets your blood flowing, how about tying a string on your dogs tail. He'll give you a much better fight than any bass.
  15. That's gigantic. Around here a 4# is big.
  16. I can see where that might be a problem.
  17. I don't know why someone would want a fake mount. If you decide to release it, you would be better off taking a picture of it and hang it on the wall. Then you can point to it and say "I caught that" instead of pointing to a plasic fish and saying "I caught a fish that looked similar to that piece of plastic".
  18. The next 3lb bass I catch, I'll release. Then, I'll get a 7lb replica made.
  19. Catch two. Get one mounted and fry the other one.
  20. Exactly. I think that was a good job for a 5 yr. old. "priceless" Cherish the memories and forget about a couple inches of fish not in the picture.
  21. Be very careful answering a question like that.
  22. I think some are taking the C&R thing too far. We have gone from keeping everything to keeping nothing. I spent a lot of money on a boat and gear to catch fish and have a good meal. I've had people get angry because I keep a couple legal Bass. Last fall I was in Bass Pro Shop and my wife was looking at fillet knives. The salesman asked her what kind of fish she was filleting. She said perch, bluegill and bass. He snapped at her saying we release bass and walked away in a huff. p.s. I don't go deer hunting with a tranquilizing dart either.
  23. I've got a Targa V18. Lots of room for the family. Great boat. I didn't get the combo because I'd lose a lot of storage and it has smaller live wells.
