Hey everyone, so I need y'all's help! I'm in High School, and this semester I am taking an AP Language Arts class in which I have to write a persuasive research paper on something I'm really interested in. We have to find hard facts to back things up and also experiment with things. Naturally I wanted to do something based on fishing, and my favorite thing to fish with has always been soft-plastics. So, I'm on the hunt for the BEST soft plastic out there. I want to narrow it down to the top 3 best/most popular brands, best/most popular colors, and best/most popular styles of plastic(worm, craw, senior, ribbon-tail etc.) . After I have collected the information I will buy 3 different kind of baits in 3 different colors with 3 different styles. After that, I will fish them all on certain days for certain times over the course of the semester in different types of weather in one pond that will be my "control pond" after collecting tons of data, I can establish what the actual BEST bait is by analyzing how many fish it caught in a certain period if time, and it's durability. So what I'm asking for is for everyone to name their top 3 brands, colors, and types of soft-plastic. Thanks so much!

Same here, and that might be your problem, make sure you reel in all of your slack line, sometimes when I fish with a senko, the fish will grab it and run with it before I even notice and when I feel something I set the hook with a slack line, make sure you have a direct connection to your hook and set it!

Sometimes before I go fishing, I check the "fishing forecast" for my area, but these predictions have never really helped much. I always just have the most luck fishing early mornings and in the evening. do these forecasts depend on weather and what kind of water you are trying to fish?

I used to have a lot of luck with crankbaits before I really knew what I was doing, now that I fish more often and know more about baits, i never have luck with cranking. what is the best way to fish these baits in a small pond? Type of rod? type of line? water clarity? depth? etc...

Soft plastics, soft plastics, soft plastics... Wether it is a senko, a t-rigged trickworm, or a creature bait, bass in small ponds love soft plastics! Can't go wrong with a wacky rigged Yum Dinger!!

I usually use 50lb. powerpro braid on my baitcasters in about any type of water clarity. But I was wondering if there are certain times when you should use fluoro and if you should even use fluoro on a baitcaster. just some advice about how ya'll use your line in different ways.

I was out bass fishin in my kayak last night at around 7 o'clock when the bugs started to come out. They were swarming my face and it got really annoying. I heard bug spray isn't good to use when you fish because the scent repels the fish. Are there any other techniques that can keep the gnats, flys, and mosquittos away, but not the fish?

Hey guys, I want to start fishing with swimbaits because I hear you can catch monster bass more often with them. Any good suggestions for swimbaits that work really well?

Hey guys, I have never really known what the proper hook sizes are for fishing different kind of soft plastics are. What size should I use for ordinary trick and finesse worms, what size should I use for smaller baits like craw dads and wooly bugs, what type of hook and what size for senkos, flukes etc. any soft plastic... Help!
