Still spawning? Possible?
Definitely not an expert by any means, but here is a quote from a recent article in my local paper. I reside near Philly. The (area lake) water levels are still up and it (temperature) has stayed cool. That has delayed the bass spawn and they can still be caught all around the edges at Nockamixon,

Anyone in Lower Bucks PA, just outside of Philly?
Hey guys, anyone fish in the Lower Bucks County area? Looking for some good bass spots to fish. (Shoreline fisher here, no boat available) The usual places I plan on fishing in my are are: Levittown Lake Corcreek Park Lake Magnolia Lake There is a Lake (forget the name) up on Levittown Parkway/Oxford Valley Rd that I used to fish as a kid. And the Delaware river. Any of those spots bass hotspots? And are there any good ponds or streams around that I am not aware of that are good fishing? Well, hopefully there is a local or 2 here that can help me out. Thanx guys. Glad I found this forum.

A little help needed
Hello all. Just getting back into fishing, and am really interested in doing some top water lure fishing. My only rod right now is a basic $35 Quantum spincasting rod and reel combo. I was wondering if I should look into a different kind of reel for this type of fishing, and if so, which kind? Something for more accurate casting? But also, I do not have a large budget either. So just looking for a good reel (and rod?) for accurate casting for top water lure fishing. Unless of course my spincaster should work fine for this. Thanx guys. BTW, it will mostly be lake fishing I do, and from the shorelines, as I do not have a boat. I am near the Delaware River and may do some river fishing, but the majority of my fishing will be in lakes in my area.

Hello from Philly, or just outside of it.
Hello all. I am located in Bristol PA, just outside of Philly. Here is a little about myself regarding fishing. I have not been fishing in about 10 years. Even back then, I didn't describe what I did as fishing, but rather I stood on the edge of a body of water with a rod in my hands. lol. I was not an expert back then, nor did I ever really catch much. None of that mattered as I was fishing with my son, who was 9 and 10 back then, so just being with him was my main concern. Then baseball took over (He is a college pitcher currently) so the fishing stopped. He just finished his freshman year in college and when he came home, he suddenly got the fishing bug, and has been begging to go fishing. So I decided this time I want to learn and to actually catch stuff. As I was very short on gear I went out and bought 2 basic $35.00 Quatum (?) spincasting rods, and a bunch of tackle. So I am here to learn how to actually catch fish this time around, and make the experience with my son even greater. I am sure I will have a ton of questions, but will ave them for a new thread. Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone.
