  1. I'd check out the value of the lures before attempting restoring. Some may be worth more than you expect. Collectors can be pretty fussy about "original" condition, etc. ..or they may turn out to be just interesting old lures, that with a little work, could go on to 2nd life of fishing!
  2. There are "Knock off" copies of brand name fly tying vices out there. While many of the copies are made for hooks for trout flies, some are made to handle salt water flies and those may work with the larger size (and gauge) hooks that you'll be using. If there's a local fly shop in your area, that you could contact, they may be able to help. They'll need to know the hook sizes etc. An inexpensive copy of a Regal vice might work. BPS used to have one (Crown?).
  3. The Worden's Roostertail uses a hackle, instead of bucktail. The hackle is wrapped on the shaft of the spinner, over the wire wraps at the rear eye. That being said there's no reason bucktail wouldn't work, a little more bulk than hackle. Solid vs hollow beads, the solid metal beads will give you more weight, and more distance and faster sink rate. Quin
  4. Some of them might be over 20 years old, as the Shallow Shad Rap came out in the early 1980's. Some of the color patterns are newer though.
