Pflueger web site says the rod they designed to go with the reel has over sized guides to help with cast from the large spool.Also mr 8 graphite blank. The combo sells for 99 bucks sounds like a good buy. Also does any one know if Dick,s would do special orders on some thing like this ? Cant let the wife see this come in the mail! Thanks! ;D

Ok it is the time of year every one likes to clean up there reels and rods. Here is my 2 cents worth. After years of cleaning my guns and reels i have settled on eezox oil to oil my reels and 22 rimfires.No grease.eezox is second to none in corrosion resistance and a fine lubricate. Just a few drops in side the reel a few times a year and your reel will last many years no mater what make or brand! Also i wax the outside of my reels and rods with car wax 2 or 3 times a year. Make shore you get some wax in and around the side plate on yore reel to help lock out dirt and moister .Any car wax will work i like turtle wax ice. Also wax your guides for braid lines.You can look up eezox on line, i do not sell it or know any one who does, i just know it works! :o

Thar is and old saying in hunting your better of with a 100$ gun and a 400$ scope than vice versa . What is your thoughts in rod combo's

Check out you tube on how to clean and oil your reels! Watch several videos and you will get the basic idea.

Has any one used doug Hannons reels? Do they work ect?

I don't know if you would call it a gadget. but i been using berkly,s reel magic with great results. casts farther and protects your reel from corrison . reel runs smoother.

Whatever tube you us try hooking a worm or night crawler on the hook before sliding the tube on. scent lasts on every cast. hook worm as many times and still fits in body. holes = scent.

Do not forget to take a few top water with you! lots of fun in the mornings and late afternoon . some times also all day. :

no those weights will be fine.I have three rods set up in 4# 6# and 14# fire line works and casts beautiful. just use palmero knot like berkley recommends. I also spray the line with reel magic and wax the guides to protect from guides line wear. great line for ultra-lites.

water is high do to all the rain. fishing was slow but me and my sons were trying every thing in the tackle box's .I had picked up a storm chug bug in phantom 510 this spring at dicks. so i tried it for the first time.on .the next five casts caught five smallmouths till the knot came on thy-ed! was using fire line in 4# test using clinch knot instead of palomar live and learn! so any way heads up on this clear color looks like a folded dragon fly? will be heading to dicks today to buy more.maybe just a fluke 'but will definitely worth a try again!
