Intensive search
I bet the finding and catching are not very difficult down at the stick marsh.

A nice little gift, I guess
The Sedona 's are a lot of bang for the bucks ;so to speak. They get the job done and hold up for years with very little maintenance .IMHO you got a nice gift.

Sam got a 2 footer today
I took my boys to Apalachia Lake today. 14 year old Sam caught a 24" largemouth we are guesstimating to weigh about 8lbs. It was caught around 3 this afternoon with an 11cm gold rapala floating minnow that is one of my old stock, made in Finland, originals. We call fish like this "old mossy cods". I t was released where it was caught after it posed for the picture.

Bad experience on lake today
Been there and done that. Good for you for not going the ER route. No one should ever go fishing with out something that will cut a hook shank and pliers for plucking.I have only had one that wouldn't pluck .I had to cut the shank and push the point out a new hole and then pull it on through. Stuff happens.A bottle of H2O2 should be in every vehicle and boat too.The first time It happened to me I tried the pull up on it and cut along it with the pocket knife until it pulls loose method.I don't recommend that route.I sharpened my knife when I got home. The next time I took the pliers and snatched hard . That works better but you want to make sure you get it the first time. :'(

Need a dropshot rod that won't break the bank
My son has the Falcon Lowrider drop-shot LFS-2-169 and loves it. It is around $100 and made in this country.

St. Croix Avid Warranty
Call them. Talk to the service rep. It might not cost you anymore than the postage to send your rod to them.Times are hard and happy customers are important to businesses that want to stay in business.

About to buy a boat (Need some knowledge)
I tried running my x96 on my trolling motor motor battery and it did not work out. It seems that although the sonar draws very few amps, the trolling motor draws a lot and running the the trolling motor for 5 or 10 minutes would temporarily draw the battery voltage down to the point where the sonar would shut down. After I wired the sonar to the starting battery I had no more problems with it.YMMV.

Fishing without a boat in Middle Tennessee
Without a doubt the most productive area for a boat-less fisherman is the tail-race of a dam. Middle TN has some great ones.

Catch and Release?
The highland lakes I fish most often have some largemouth, more smallmouth, and lots of spots. Managers encourage keeping spots for the table. I release all largemouth and smallmouth I catch and keep spots within the regulations. I fish for sport ,not just for meat or money or glory. Any fish that I release is treated as gently as possible and quickly put back where he was caught I will not put them in a livewell to keep for bragging purposes and then throw them out at the ramp.

new guy
Hello from SE TN. I have been fishing about 50 years. I fish a lot.I have boat and also wade streams . I grew up bass fishing . My dad got me started . I fish for other species , as well,in fresh and saltwater. My closest and most frequently fished lake is Hiwassee in SW NC . My favorite method is c. rigged Zoom finesse worms .I usually have 3 rigs ready though when fishing from the boat that include the plastic worm mentioned , a crankbait and a topwater lure.I have never been into tournament fishing and probably never will be. My most frequent fishing partner is my 14 year old son. This seems to be a great forum with members from all over the country . I currently have fishing licenses for TN ,GA , NC, and AL because my home is in TN , 4 miles from NC and 10 miles from GA and my dad lives on Lake Martin in AL. I also spend 4 to 6 weeks fishing in FL every year too, although mostly for snook. I guess this already a long introduction so I will close by saying that I don't generally read posts from people who won't use punctuation.
