I saw a SALTWATER CROCODILE in the indian river today!!! (while wade fishing!)
Yes ,snookie lad, iit was a remarkable evening. My son was beside me doing just as well. We were getting slammed almost every cast.No everyone doesn't do that.I 'd bet a c-note to a do-nut that you never have. But that's O.K. chief.Maybe you will get into them like that one day.Have a nice life.

Well thanks ,lite, for educating me about crocs without any personal attacks. Snook ,I'll be down there soon . I love to catch snook.I caught 17 one night in about 2 hours and that is just the ones I landed .they ran from about 2 feet to well over 40 inches. All were caught with plugs and all were handled with care and released alive and well. Lets not get together though.

Lake Martin Alabama Labor Day
The pleasure boaters kept us rocking pretty hard but we did O.K. Sunday evening and Monday morning.Sam fished jigs mostly while I stayed with my usual finesse worm.We went about the same in numbers but his averaged a little bigger.I got a few with a spook too. Most were spots and none were bigger than about 2 lbs. but we had a good time.We will be back down there in about 3 weeks and the conditions should be greatly improved.

I am a tree hugger, figuratively speaking, but I think that is nuts. Those non-indigenous killers should be shot on site. Of course, the fact that I will be wading in that area in a few weeks is a big factor in my feelings about the matter.Anybody that has ever been a hundreds yards from shore in waist deep water and saw a gator slip beneath the surface can relate to what I'm talking about. It's not so bad when you can see them. But when they silently submerge while eyeballing you ,you would have to be crazy to not get a little nervous. From what I have heard ,crocodiles are a lot more aggressive than gators. Grizzly bears are protected in Alaska but that doesn't keep a lot of the fisherman from packing some serious fire power. I guess they would rather pay a fine than be eaten.

Kill that sucker. Take a .357 and blow his brains out. I don't think you could be prosecuted if you got caught doing it because it is an exotic.Alligators are protected but not crocs.

Falcon warranty experience?
I have dealt with them. They are top-notch. Have no doubt about them standing behind their products. The person I dealt with was not only helpful, but genuinely friendly and that is something that seems to be rarer in our society everyday. If you have any doubts, just call them and speak to the warranty guy yourself.

What you know about Quarrow Rods ?
It is my understanding that Quarrow is out of business and has been for some time. That would make warranty and customer service non existent.A lot of the left over rods were dumped at way below wholesale for a while but that has about dried up. It seems as though not many people on this forum knew they were ever in business or just won't comment about them for some reason.

How Would You Handle the Situation?
To the original poster: I can't blame you for being upset. If I was fishing a bit of cover and someone pulled up within casting distance of me on the other side of the cover and started fishing it ,I would let them know what I thought about it quick. I would never do that to anybody. I f I am headed for a point or stretch of bank or any particular structure and someone is already there I will go some place else.Never would I pull up and think we could share it. If some one is fishing a point I intend to travel around I will swing as wide away as possible instead of blowing right by them. If someone is working rising schools in open water I will also swing as far away as possible to avoid putting the fish down for them. I have had people do this to me where they just cruised right through the school when they could have very easily have kept a reasonable distance and then look confused when I gave them the traditional salute for such inconsiderate behavior. It comes down to mutual respect ,common courtesy , and common sense .

What you know about Quarrow Rods ?
I have a ML3 6' mh pistol grip I like for worms and jigs .It is light and sensitive .I 'd say it is as good as an Avid. The handle took a little getting used to. I like the pistol grip but the trigger has sort of sharp edges. I have a Falcon "old favorite" that is similar. It is 6' mh pistol grip too. The ml3 quarrow is lighter and just feels better . The falcon is an original model so it is a lower grade graphite probably more like a premier .I use St Croix in comparison because I own a few of those too. I think the thing that most hurt Quarrow was the stupid sounding name.It sounds kind of *****-o. I had a Quarrow fly rod but I sold it before I used it much . I think they made good rods ,but could have used a little help in the marketing department.

What to do if you hook yourself passed the barb!
I had a crank bait hook get worked deep into my finger by a flopping fish once. It was past the bend in the hook so I cut the eye off the shank and pushed the point out , grabbed it with pliers and pulled it out.

Would you do it?
" Going blackwater " is a generic term used by soldiers these days that means getting out of active duty service so they can sign up with one of the private contractors like Blackwater Corporation. There are many others.

I hate alligators
Like I said , I fish in Plantation. The ponds in there that have direct connections to tidal creeks have salt water running into them at high tide. They have redfish and ladyfish and mullet The ones that are fed only by run-off are full of bass and bream (huge bream you can barely reach around and that will suck down a #2 popper with no problem. So all of them are good to fish.but as to safe;none of them are. watch out for those gators.

A nephew of mine is sargent in the Army .He just started his fourth hitch. He didn't deploy on his first hitch. Then he did two 15 month tours in the sandbox. The hummer he was manning the 50 cal. on got hit with an RPG during his first tour. He spent a few weeks in a hospital and a month working light duty at the post office before he went back to Striker. He said he would get out when than hitch was up, but re-upped when the time came. Second tour went O.K. although he said one of his buddies killed himself one night. He will be going to Afghanistan in a couple of months .He plans to stay in the Army until he can retire .He likes it. But dude,go ahead and go blackwater.Like you said the money is a whole lot more than they pay G.I.'s .Your fire power will be superior to what regular soldiers get as they will give you the best of everything and you will be safer than the guys who are out doing routine patrols following orders. Half of the U.S. paid soldiers in the middle east are mercenaries. Grab all that dough while you can and then kick back and spend the rest of your life fishing.

Bassin and Beer
A guy kind of stumbled as he came in one night and his wife said,"what do you mean coming in half drunk." He looks at her and says ,"I ran out of money . " Bod -a- boom. They say a drunk gets run over every 15 minutes. He must be a tough son of a gun. Bod-a boom. A drunk took a taxi home .On the way he asked the driver if he had room for a case of beer and a pizza in the front seat. The driver said "sure".The drunk leaned over the seat and barfed. Bod-a-boom boom.
