  1. Your logic makes sense. My only problem with the quote is that unless they've been sitting on the supposed new technology for several years how do they know if gear life is extended or to such a degree ? It's a constant struggle for the tackle companies to be seen as innovative and o think sometimes the market gets intimidated rather than inspired.
  2. My understanding is that the Magseal is between the body plates to deal out water. IMO this is great for the average joe that will never open a reel but is overkill those of us that will deep clean and relubricate reels on a regular basis. The biggest advantage to the deal would be for dedicated saltwater use. If/ when the oil comes available I'll certainly use it but I'm the meantime if I had a Certate that needed love I'd do my usual routine and sleep like a baby.
  3. Not me, them!!!! I work too cheap already.
  4. To do a deep cleaning on a spinning reel take me about 90 minutes. After shipping that's $4/HR. So......
  5. How long of a Rod is that ? Lots of high quality multi piece fly rods catch fish bigger than bass so in theory I would keep an open mind but remain curious as to the reasoning behind such a Rod design.
  6. I ordered them separately. The tube specs give the OD and I thing the ring part number. If you do a drill lathe use 3/8 or better Rod for mandrel and be sure the bearings in the drill chuck are good. A little wobble makes turning miserable.
  7. A Super Tuned 50e Shimano is probably the most cost effective venture into finesse bait casting. Otherwise prepare to open up the wallet .
  8. "Less is more" are words to live by in a lot of ways. Nothing wrong with with not wanting open a reel. An automotive oil change is much simpler and quicker yet what % of people do their own? Don't know exactly but it's small.
  9. I had a ds Rod with a TN handle of Kevlar with slip rings. Like it s lot. The Torzite guides are nice but very expensive. I concur with using wraps that will blend in.
  10. Nice. What # is that Blurple?
  11. I like the logic here. If a new bait will only produce when others are working you don't need the new one. I look for new things that will add to the bites I can get with I have. Probably 75% of my fishing time is some sort or R&D related to Rod components or throwing a "new" bait or lure.
  12. Don't you have open water where you live?
  13. PROmotion and PROsports go hand in hand. We see what they want us to see and that's ok , otherwise there's nothing to see.
  14. If he doesn't want what I have I'll put it in the flea market.
  15. The 200e is a great reel that I own myself. I suggested the smaller ones only due to their popularity. Any of them will work. The 300 is considerably larger and heavier with line capacity way above what you'll use bass fishing.
  16. Too much reel for what you want to do. A curado 50 or 70 is plenty
  17. Hot to the touch is a good rule to follow. You're not melting the epoxy just trying to soften it up a little.
  18. Any residue can be cleaned off with some more gentle heat and a plastic knife or old credit card to scrape.
  19. Sorry my inbox was full. Thanks for letting me know! those CRB blanks are not bad at all. Just limited models. Get Bit had a similar line with more models .
  20. Using an extra guide or two makes sense but should be further back where the Rod flexes. I'm not surprised they're changing this.
