  1. So has anybody else seen the results from last weekend? Way to go Deb!
  2. Regardless of the type of dock, bass hang around them for cover and food. Figure out what type of forage is hanging around those docks, and try to come close to matching it.
  3. So every Wednesday night there's a bunch of bass fishermen out there fishing? Sounds like you could be taking a boat ride those nights looking at where these anglers were and then relating them to the map. I'm not going to suggest that you pull the seagull routine on them and park right next to them, but it should give you a good idea of the types of water they are fishing. Find that type of structure and then start looking for similar areas that you can target.
  4. If you hadn't said that your partner keeps catching them, I would have said that you may need to change tactics. But that part makes it sound like you may either be losing your concentration or just getting tired. Maybe you need to change your sleeping habits, your pre-trounament meals or what kind of snacks you take along for during the day. A lack of sleep on the few nights before a tournament can add up to less stamina when you need it the most. Also, what you eat the night before or for breakfast can also either pick you up or drag you down. You may even want to look into an exercise routine that could give you more energy towards the end of your day. It might be as simple as a few energy bars ate steadily throughout the day. Don't wait until you crach to try to bring yourself back, but try to keep that energy focused all day long.
  5. I'd almost agree with that if it wasn't so much fun watching the village idiots I fish with try to deal with a triple header. I just sit behind the wheel and enjoy the show. Other than that, trolling take way too much fight out of the catching when you are dragging the fish behind the boat. In the meantime, bass fishing filled a competitive niche that great lakes or walleye tournaments can't match.
  6. What do I do? As little as possible! Over 30 years as a fulltime self employed accountant who at one point had over 450 accounting and/or tax clients. Now I'm down to a whole whopping total of 12 accounting clients and maybe a dozen tax clients. All of them are long-term clients that I've worked with for over 25 years. It's hard to let go sometimes.
  7. Never in my vehicle, but i had one make a visit into my boat. Ate an entire 100 pack of Power Worms that were sitting on the deck. On a brighter note - At least that coon didn't chow down on your crawdads!
  8. Yup, I smell a real adventure coming up. I can't wait to see the particulars. Pickwick State Park perhaps?
  9. Absolutely! My dad died 24 years ago and hunting and fishing has never been the same since. He would be my #1 choice for having in my boat.
  10. January 2nd until April 15th - Every year for 30 straight years. Of course most of it was done sitting at a desk which doesn't really qualify as work.
  11. So is there a time frame for when this show airs, or do we have to wait until the potential trial in over?
  12. Kinda like Long Mike, I can be on Lake Erie in 4 1/2 hours. As a matter of fact, I'm surrounded by good/great smallmouth fishing. But I can only find the Mesquite BBQ in Texas. I'll take Lake Fork!
  13. Next thing you want to try is putting the smaller lure in front of the popper so that the popper looks like it is chasing the smaller lure. Or, you can just use the Front Runner.
  14. Use different weights to change to the rate of its fall. Sometimes fish will react to a fast initial drop, while other times the fall has to be very slow. Besides hopping it, dragging it, or swimming it, don't forget to try deadsticking it. Throw it out, let it sink to bottom, and then leave it in one place for as long as you can stand it. Count to 15, 30, maybe 60 seconds before moving your bait. Watch where the line enters the water for the telltale tick that indicates a bite.
  15. Pre-Rigged 3 hook plastic worm. K & E Worm or Kelly's Plow Jockey. You don't fish them like a Senko, you fish a Senko like them. Floating Rapala Minnow. Makes for a very subtle topwater in clear shallow water.
  16. I like to follow the lead of the world's greatest athlete. I enjoy "Going Tiger"! Woods makes a habit of cursing both bad shots and spectators with cameras, pounds clubs into the ground or throws them at his caddy or bag, and don't forget those fist pumps and other theatrics when he is on the green. All this done within a sport that was always played in hushed tones and whispers before he got there. So has anyone thought of emulating a player in any other sport? Imagine being the backseater to a Bobby Probert fan.
  17. Be happy you are catching them and not having them bite you off. Nothing worse than having to tie on a new jig or worm every 15 minutes or so.
  18. I'd say that the first thing to consider is what the release site is like. If it has good cover and food, a lot of those fish might be there a week or more later. THis was the case at last year's Kentucky Lake roadtrip. The marina at Moor's had a tournament weigh in on the Saturday we got there and they were still catching bass out of it on the Friday we left. Second thing to consider is how many fish are getting released at this site. Finally, it would really depend on if you had any fish patterned away from this place, which saves you a couple of hours during your tournament day. In my experience, I've never cared for fishing a release site the very next day. Any Wednesday night tournaments nearby?
  19. $95 is a pretty low price to get for selling out a reputation, unless that reputation wasn't worth much to begin with.
  20. Looks like Norman Bates got his Mom out of the motel for a day on the beach!
  21. Be happy that you wife collects something you can play with. Mine collects breakable knick-knack junk that I don't even want to touch.
  22. Welcome to Bass Resource. My first piece of advice would be to follow this link and get ready to start reading. http://www.bassresource.com/how-to-fish/
  23. That would explain this picture of RW showing how big his roadtrip bass was!
  24. That is one beautiful looking puppy A-Jay. Should we assume that this is the price of a week long trip to Lake Erie? I'm thinking two new PB's should equal two puppies though!
