  1. I was just wondering when there was a thread where everyone was showing off their tackle I realized that a lot of members have changed/tuned their handles and knobs. Are there any reason to do it especially when it's about 100 bucks for the handles and 100 bucks for the knobs? I was thinking maybe it was lighter? Any help would be appreciated.
  2. Well it was designed that way, I didn't take it out myself I'm thinking for pulling more line for further flips? Maybe it's just further up than the normal rod, just scared if I cast it might affect distance with the friction hitting the rod blank itself.
  3. I actually own a St. Croix Mojo Bass Flippin' Stick length at 7'11 missing the first guide for flippin' purposes. I was wondering if it would give me any problems if I casted frogs with them?
  4. So I'm assuming from majority you guys would probably use braid with a fluorocarbon leader? I mean say if I fish jig and pig, I know during the hotter days they seek for more reaction strike but I have that mentality that I will not catch due to the visibility of the braid itself from no cover to semi cover. Would you guys say that a leader would make any difference in terms of catching none or tons?
  5. I just bought a new flipping/pitching set-up but I wasn't sure what type of line would be best for dock fishing and how many pound test for jig and pigs. I've seen people use monofilament, fluorocarbon, braid with fluoro leader, and braid. So I'm just wondering what you guys reccommend to me and a little tip with visability. Any tips or help would be much appreciated! Thank you! ;D
  6. What are all your preferences with 7'11 flipping stick taper? Because I've seen some that are Mod. Fast, Fast, X-Fast, I never owned a long flippin' stick so I was wondering what is recommended.
  7. Oh man BoatCaptian, I would definitely go with a MH. I have a M before also, I found that it's a little too flimsy. You will definitely feel it on the cast and retrieves.
  8. I have a couple of rods that I hardly use but today on the sunlight I noticed that there are minor scratches and nicks on them. But I have heard once it gets down to the graphite that becomes the weakest part of the rod and that's where it usually gives out first. I've heard people use clear nail polish to fill but that doesn't sound like a good idea. I recently saw a commercial on WFN with Billy Mays a product called FixItPro that fills scratches and nicks but didn't want to jump the gun without any experienced advice. So my question for the members that might know the answer, what is the best solution?
  9. Right on bud, right on haha. I'm really happy with it, caught many fish on it.
  10. Thanks Skunked_Again for the welcome. It's alot of personal preference to the St. Croix Mojo Bass Rods, I myself own 5 of them rigged with Curados mostly and a Citica. I do love my Mojo's but the more I fish them I find them I realize they are a little tip heavy. I own the following from the St. Croix Mojo Bass line: MBC70MF / Plastics MBC70MHF / Spinnerbait MBC70MHM / Crankbait MBC70HF / Slop-N-Frog MBS70MF / Tubes/Grubs However, I have caught lots of bass on them and they do have a strong backbone for hooksets. I bought these rods from my buddy that owns a tackle store which didn't hurt me too much on the financial part. I was looking into selling them and getting higher end rods that balance with my Curados alot better. I had the Abu Garcia Vendetta's in mind but there aren't too much reviews for them, they are not available at the Canadian Bass Pro Shops to handle ether. From the member's experience here, what would you recommend at the Crucial price range?
  11. So I know that these two lines of rods are fairly new and there has been a huge hype for both. My question to everyone in this forum is, which one do you think is overall better with reasons behind it! This will be interesting to hear! Thanks!
