  1. Here's the video that Rapala has. Looks like a floating bait, made from Balsa.

Has anyone used these? I use a jointed Shad Rap that produces real well for me, plus the original Rapala. Saw the minnow Rap being a evolution of the two thought that it might be good. Also, the lakes that I fish do not have Shad in them and the minnow more resembles the forage base for these lakes.
  3. Yeah, that dude really doesn't have a clue. : http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20333&id=0043073121539a&navCount=5&podId=0043073&parentId=cat20333&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IA&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true I'd go with the 35. I have one in the bigger 40 size for throwing things on a 8' spinning rod across the lake or river into the next county, and people don't realize how very light these reels are comparative to their size. Great, great reels for the money. I wouldn't be so quick to dimiss him as being clueless. Pflueger already has replacements for both the Supreme and the President. The Supreme XT and President XT have been out a while now and appear to be selling fairly well, so why wouldn't they discontinue the older models? They might be planning that but have them still listed for their 2010 catalog.
  4. tnhiker No I would just be happy to have the 40 degree weather, as it hasn't got that warm here since last november. I think the warmest it has been here 38 for the high. If we have ice out by Easter I'll be happy. Still have about 24 inches of ice on the lakes here.
  5. Man I would just be happy for 40 degree weather.
  6. What is the viscosity of Reel Butter Bearing Lube. BobP you listed the others but thios one. Wondering what it is if you know.
  7. Ya Zero the president was the one I was planning on too.
  8. I going to buy a plueger spinning reel and am trying to decide if I should get a size 30 or 35. Mainly fish 6lb and 8 lb test.
  9. You almost stumped Him on the Ice Cream.
  10. Man I hate living in the frozen boondocks sometimes.
  11. Has anyone had a chance to use the Pflueger Asaro spinning Reel? What do you think of it?
  12. Those stats are out of date. Montana had 3 state records broken last year including LMB.
  13. Lets see. 1 Canoe 2 swimbaits 3 dropshot 4 every other lure or rig excluding crankbaits since those are my all else fails lures
  14. Just got a eagle gt light rod today for 24.99 (was regular 64.99) from a regional sports store (210 miles round trip). Can't wait for spring thaw to get out and try it and my HMG MH rod that I got last month for 49.99 out. Hope that you enjoy yours and the warmer weather. Jon
  15. Ours put everything that they had on clearance back in their regular stock at full price when they filled out their fishing section the other day. Guess since that it is about back in season that the stuff is in demand for full price. Wish that the ones in the state sold real stuff other than just Rapala lures and ugly sticks.
  16. SM 3lbs at least by the junk scale i had. was 14 inches long. Firedad jointed shad Rap JSR05 Aug 10 3009, 2010 hours Blue sky and no WIND Bearpaw lake biggest I have heard of out of the lake is 5 lbs.
  17. I have both a old pair of needle nose and a gerber multitool in my tackle box that i use. The wife got me a leatherman squirt s2 this year haven't got to try it out on the water yet but the pliers are smaller and have a longer tip to them so I am hoping.
  18. Anyone used the Spro bbz-1 4-inch shad?
  19. Mike did you mean this. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_97967_100001002_100000000_100001000_100-1-2#reviews
  20. Don't Ya know that color is the thing. Not the guides, power, action, reel seat, its the color that does it all, and there are only 3 main colors that ya need. Fluorescent Green, Red, and Hot Pink. Thats all care on.
  21. Go with what ya know. Like you said you got a baitcaster that you have been learning on. If you have a nice spinning setup that you like and want a top BC setup go for it. Myself I would go with a top spinning setup myself. Like yourself that is what i am good at and know.
  22. Seyone can I come stay with you? Its -31 when I left work tonight.
  23. not sure about Cory's ultimate 12 but have fished from my Dad's ultimate tandem 12.5 has a hybrid hull design that is like a pontoon design where you r sitting that gives ya a good platform to stand in. Myself I ended up with a 15 foot Alumacraft flatback canoe (was in my price range) that i plan to get out after it warms up from the -25 degree winter we are having. The Hobie PA looks real sweet though, and I think that there is a plug that can replace the foot drive/ troll motor unit for skinny water.
