  1. I'm still looking for a 7#'er. These are as close as I've come so far. 21.5" - 6#3oz from August '07 19.5" - 6#5oz from September '07
  2. I use electronics bags from Cabelas. I have 1 for dropshot baits, 1 for Senkos/creatures, 1 for tubes and 1 for gobys & big tubes. They come in 3 sizes.
  3. I have caught many bass on Erie that I believe to have been fizzed at one time. I say this because of a reddish sore/scar on the side of the fish right where you would insert the needle.
  4. It really depends what I need. I order from both BPS and Cabelas along with Tackle Warehouse, buyfishingstuff.com and FishUSA. I also shop at 3 local Gander Mountains. Each place has stuff I use, but none of them has it all.
  5. What gave it away....the yellow shirt or the 6# smallie?
  6. I can't say if it's any better than out of PA. Here's my take on why the big tourneys launch out of NY or OH. The limit in those 2 states is 5 fish, just like the tourney limit of BASS and FLW. PA has a 4 fish limit for bass on Lake Erie. A little closer than Buffalo is Dunkirk. Deep water there isn't too far off shore like the PA waters of Erie. I planned to take a trip to Dunkirk while on vacation in June, but the lake never settled enough to go. It rained and blew 7 of the 9 days I was there.
  7. I've been doing quite well on my local deep/clear reservoir dropshotting Jackall Cross Tail Shads in the Ayu color. Primary forage there is alewife, crayfish and some rainbow smelt.
  8. I used Vanish on 2 different occasions. The first time was 6# on a steelhead rod. I broke off every fish in the morning, then when the air temp got over 40*, I didn't break off another one. I stripped that line off as soon as I got home. What good is it if it breaks when cold. The second time, I was in a pinch and needed a spool of 8# for a tube rod. Being that it was years since my first Vanish experience, I tried it again. Serious line twist and just as brittle as the 6#, but it wasn't cold this time, it was 80*. Having said that, I've had good luck with Invizx in 6# and Halo in 6#, 8# and 10#. Currently I'm using Halo on my clear lake rods and have been experimenting with the new Floroclear co-poly in mist green. It seems to work in the clear water just as well as the Halo.
  9. Hi, my name is Scott and I'm addicted to smallmouth. I know I have a problem, but I don't know what to do about it. Is there any hope?
  10. My bass boat is a 17' Lund Mr. Pike. I like the higher sides of the V type boats over the bass boats. I like to be in my boat, not on it. I fish club tournaments on the 3 rivers and Erie and it does just fine.
  11. IMO...No. If you're gonna spend that much, I would go with Fuji Ti/SiC over the Recoils any day. With that being said.....I really like the Alconites myself. If you want to save the weight, use all BLAG's and BLAG4's as your running guides.
