  1. I have a couple Gander rods from a few years ago. A Walleye series and a Titanium series. Both with SiC guides. Got them both on clearance. Great rods, but I HATE the foregrip on the Ti, so I removed it.
  2. All I use is Thread Master on my rods. I did coat a couple beat-up lures with some left-over once. It levels just like it does on the rods and gave fantastic finish....they looked new.
  3. Clogged fuel tank vent?....pinched fuel line?
  4. I fixed a Loomis steelhead rod for a guy that had the stripper guide wrapped about 45* off the rest. I can understand a small amount of misalignment, but Ray Charles could have seen this.
  5. It's Gudebrod (638) Teal nylon without CP. The inlay is (9252) Aquamarine metallic and the trim is (9006) Steel Blue metallic.
  6. It's done, except for the decals....and I may not even put them on.
  7. I hold my spinning reels between my pinky and ring finger, so I never touch the threads. My pinky is on the reel foot and the hump of the Aero fits in my hand nicely. I don't like foregrips, but with this seat mounted backwards, it's necessary. So, the short foregrip allows me to have contact with the blank.
  8. It's a custom pour. I'll shoot you a PM with his contact info as he is not a board sponsor.
  9. Bingham Enterprises in Kansas.
  10. I like the Rikon too. Was gonna get a Jet, but decided to go the economy route on the lathe and get a good chuck. It does just fine for what I do with it. Here's an update on the DS rod. It's complete, minus the decals which haven't been made yet. Total weight.....2.94 oz. Progress pic of the tube rod.
  11. I have a few Rainshadows and I'm building a Seeker crankbait rod and a NFC flippin' stick, but other than that, it's St. Croix blanks and Shimano reels.
  12. With vacation fast approaching, and the DS rod near completion, I figured I'd start on my next project.....a new tube rod. Here's the crude beginnings. before anyone asks.....yes, it's pink.
  13. Rod Building Guide by Tom Kirkman.....best I've seen for beginners.
  14. 5S69MLXF-B TYSG25, 16, 8 TLSG4s TFST4.5-3.5 Pac Bay TiCh hook latch graphite slide rings
  15. Yep, I did just buy a Tracker project, but it's rivited, not welded....and I sold the Merc before I even got it home :. I was actually speaking of my boat quest from 2004-2005 in my previous post.
  16. If it wasn't for the fact that Trackers are packaged with Merc motors, I'd probably have one now. Glad I settled for a Lund ;D.
  17. I use 6# Halo or InvizX, which ever is available at the time.
  18. Premier....Made in USA Mojo.....Made in Mexico Triumph....Now made in Mexico....formerly made overseas. The other differences are in the components.
  19. the weight shouldn't be a problem. Earlier this year, I built a 7' M/F casting with micros and a split cork grip that weighed 3.44oz. It came in lighter than the production rod on the same blank (as a custom should). The biggest hurdle is the price. Any particular reason you want foam?.....cork is lighter.

I build all my rods on the straightest axis.
