  1. Does anyone have a fish/depth finder with your canoe? How does it work for you? I know I want one , I'm just not sure how they work with a canoe or even if its worth it. Any advice would be great!
  2. I own the Supreme and I love it. For me its right up there with the older Curados. My only problem is finding someone who will service any Plueger. Great reel though.
  3. Just off the top of my head- Flukes and spinnerbaits through the grass, jigs over the rocks, and rattle traps and a shad rap # 5 through the creek channel. Good luck!
  4. The best advice is to keep at it. Your using the right tackle, so just stay with it. It can take from 1 to 20 cast to get that fish to actually get that fish to put the bait in his or her mouth. You want to make that fish so mad that he has no other choice but to eat your bait. One more thing- try keeping the bait in the middle of the bed and just hop it. He may use his nose to push it off, but eventually he will eat it!
  5. I fish with my 5 year old son as much as I can. One thing I've learned is it really doesnt matter what you catch just as long as he is catching something. He wants to fish for bass, but his patience(and mine) leave quickly, so by the end of the day I put a bobber and a worm on and let him catch bream. Its makes his day! I make it as positive as an experience as I can. As far as lures go-anything weedless!!!! t-rig plastics, flukes, and tubes. Remember your sowing the seeds for a future fisherman, so patience is the key. Your kids will remember your adventures on the lake forever!
  6. Welcome aboard! Just wait for Roadwarrior to wake up. He'll have all the smallie advice you need.
  7. Thanks! I'll give that a try. I've been reading "downsizing" all summer for non aggressive bass. Bigger lure- easier seen(and heard) makes sense. May even keep those pesky 1 pounders off my line. Thanks for the help.
  8. Need some of that expert advice. Grew up fishing high visibility lakes up North(Champlain,Saranac) but now I live down South and the water I fish is stained at best. It seems to me that most fishing techniques are taught with high(or a least some) vis in mind. T-rig is about the only success I have. Even my trusty blk/slv broken- back rap. is useless here! Any help would be great. Thanks
