  1. Probably a very basic, easy question for a lot of you - When weighing in or showing off their catch, how do tournament anglers just reach in and pull bass out by the lip? How do they just reach in and get a hold of a no longer hoooked, live, swimming fish?
  2. For sunglasses I look at what I call the "discount" stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's, if you have those near you. They often have good ones for good prices. Have also gotten some online from clearance bins on big name store sites. There are definitely deals to be had.
  3. I usually go through the schedule and DVR any fishing show whether I know what it is or not. Then when I get time I watch and fast forward if not good. I ended up catching Fish Fishburne where he was racing a clock in two "halves" against himself. I guess I just didn't get it. Not on the lookout for him in my DVR searches anymore.
  4. Used to get mine at Wally World. Now I go online and print it - so easy.
  5. Agree with above? How can you be sure it's a bass cutting it? I'm not expert in S.Africa waters, but has to be something else with more significant teeth.
  6. Neighborhood kids, Big Brothers association. I would have loved to have a reel given to me as a youngster.
  7. Don't release it and call the VDGIF's 24 hour snakehead fish hotline - 1-800-770-4951. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/snakeheads.asp
  8. My vote is for reading bassresource.com forums to see if it works before taking action with it. 8-)
  9. Sounds good, thanks deep.
  10. Yep, wife actually picked it up for me at Dick's - super cheap. I think I'll give it some 6 or 8 lb and get to crankbaitin once it warms up a little. Am excited to bring two rods already rigged and not have to switch back and forth while fishing and keeping my daughter straight with her line!
  11. Thanks, all. Any other thoughts on what to use with it since I'm currently a bank/shore fisher?
  12. It's actually the 5'6" Daiwa Samurai spinning combo that someone mentioned. All I can find marked on the rod is "Model No SA F562L 5'6" Light Lure:1/16-3/8ox. Line: 2-8 lb. So I'm seeing that I should focus on spinnerbaits and crankbaits with this rod/reel combo? Thanks, I'm fairly new to all of this overall.
  13. What are 5'6" rods typically used to try to catch? With a Daiwa spinning reel could this be a bass rod? Or is this length rod more suited for panfish? Does it depend on what bait/lure I am fishing?
