  1. I throw the Bull Ribbits quite a bit and find a 5/0-6/0 Superline EWG skin hooked with braid works the best. As far as hook up ratio, sometimes the fish hit it so hard all you have to do is lean back and apply pressure, when they slurp it down you may have to wait and feel the weight before setting the hook. If new to frog fishing, try and look somewhere else when retrieving the bait so you don't jerk it away from the fish. May sound dumb but it helps until you get used to the pause.
  2. Agree with the previous statements, modifying baits is more trouble than it's worth. 8' rod, 10 lb fluoro and the old kneel n reel are your best bets.
  3. Was fishing a tournament and my partner had some prototypes of these baits, they look interesting and seem like they would work well behind a rig.
  4. Tubes and lizards, haven't thrown them in years.
  5. Heck of a fish for sure! Can't even imagine what catching something that big would feel like during a tourney, I bet you went nuts! Congrats!
  6. Seaguar InvizX and Cabela's No Viz Xtra (which is also made by Seaguar I think). Since I fish braid with a fluoro leader on all my jigs and plastics InvisX has the perfect amount of stretch I'm looking for.
  7. Loomis SHR822GLX with a Daiwa Steez 2500.
  8. This is a great event for a great cause!
  9. TDZ all the way. But I'm so used to fishing light reels I won't even look at anything over 7 ozs.
  10. If I'm not sure what they want I'll use a snap so I can change baits easily. Once I figure it out I'll tie direct. If I'm running cranks through timber or trees I always tie direct.
