  1. I fish a lot of lakes just like that, and a crankbait is one of my favorite lures. I do really well on sexy shad, firetiger, and craw colors. I fish them in 12 to 14 feet of water just nicking the top of the coontail, or along deep weededges. I have caught a lot of big fish doing this.
  2. I agree with Tin. I have used that exact rod for skippin docks with tubes and wacky worms and it works great for that. It is a great rod, but what else do you expect from St. Croix.
  3. I can tell a huge difference between crankin woth mono over fluorocarbon. Fluorocarbon is more sensitive and will get your crankbait down deeper. You can also get away with heavier line when using fluorocarbon.
  4. I like a 6'8 medium power with a extra fast tip. I like to use 8 pound flouro or mono.
  5. I did a lot of night fishing this past season with a lot of success. I have caught a lot of my biggest fish at night. I mainly use a 3/4 once black spinnerbait with a big colorado blade on it. Crankbaits work well also, but night fishing is all about vibration. I would recommend fishing slower.
  6. A 6'6 or 7'0 Medium action rod should do. Also makes a good top water rod. St Criox makes a legend tournament rod called the teaser that is made for weightless worms.
  7. I know how you feel. Its hard to fish around high school, but in the summer i try to get every day.
  8. St. Croix makes some great musky rods.
  9. I like Vicious Fluorocarbon. It is a lot cheaper than triline 100% and in my opinion fishes better.
