Bass Pro Spring Classic Flyer?
Hey guys, I'm looking to get a new baitcaster from BPS. Really looking forward to the spring classic sale. The reel trade in sale, have any of you done this before? Is it worth trading a used reel for a new one. I have a couple of reels that I could trade up. If BPS donates them to charity, that sound like a win, win!

Sevylor Fish Hunter
I think what everyone is trying to say is, If $200 is all you can spend. Then don't throw it away on that inflatable boat. You'll be lucky if you get a season out of it. Save some money & buy something better. In the long run you be glad you did! I have a 11' crawdad jon boat & love it! You could strap it to the roof with a roof rack for small boats? Look on craig's list you can find them cheap.

Braid or Floro?
Hey dodgeguy! I saw you on "Lunkerville"!

Braid or Floro?
Cool! Lots of good stuff! Up here in the northeast, the lakes & ponds are not ultra clear most are at least stained with 4-6 visibility. Don't know if I would really need a floro leader. Also, there isn't a lot of thick mats. Here we see Lily pads, lay downs, docks, weed beds & ledges ( a lot of rock). Which line is more user friendly? I have fish with a few different monos & have found that some are better than others. What brands do you guys like?

Braid or Floro?
Looking for some input. I have a field & stream MH 6'6" with a silver max Abu reel. I use this setup for jig & T-rigs. I have only used mono & now I'm looking to make the leap to super-line. I read all the reviews that customers have made about Braid & Floro. But, that only makes harder to choose one. What do you guys like & why?

Crawdad Mods
Yes, that's what I have on the crawdad now. But, that cross bar makes it hard to turn around & move around the boat.

Crawdad Mods
I have a crawdad jon boat. It has a wood floor that needs to be replaced. So, I'm thinkin about a new floor & carpet. Then I'd like to remove the crossbar that the seats sit on & replacing it with a pedestal & swivel seat. Has anyone ever done this? Will it effect the boat in any way?

Stabilizing rudder for bass busters...
Fishes in trees, Thanks for the input. Yes, I had thought of that. This was more of a test rudder to see how well it would work. My next idea is to put a 2x4 on each side of the pvc pipe & at the top drill a hole threw the 2x4s & the pipe, then put a bolt threw. That way it will swing up if I hit something & swing up when I pull the boat out of the water. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Ever wonder if fishing is not your thing?

Stabilizing rudder for bass busters...
Hey Red, Sorry I took so long to post this. Its been a busy fall for me with not much time for fishing. So, as you can see 2 pieces of plywood, 2" pvc pipe, 2 clamps, 1 nut, bolt & washer. Took a hack saw & cut the end of the pvc so the plywood fit right in the middle, then drilled thru it & put the bolt in. I got to try it out today & it worked great. I used clamps to hold it in place. I'm gonna paint it, then trim down the plywood to bolt or clamp it to the transom. I have a island that I like to fish but, with a 30lb trolling motor it takes some time to get there. I was able to aim the boat at the island turn on the trolling motor & sit back & relax!

Rudder on a crawdad
I have crawdad jon boat with the trolling motor mounted on the bow. Which causes the back of the boat to fishtail. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to build & mount a rudder on the transom?

Trolling motor horse power?
Thanks guys, Well, after reading everyone response. I'll stick with the gas motor. For a crawdad boat that's rated up to 5 hp. What's the smallest motor I should get? I've been looking on C-list for a used outboard. Found some from 1.5-5 hp. For cheap money too. What brand is the most reliable?
-
How would you fish these conditions?
Awesome ! Thanks for the help!

Trolling motor horse power?
I have a crawdad jon boat with a 30lb trolling motor. Would like to get a second motor with more power for bigger waters. Its rated up to 5 hp outboard. A gas powered outboard new is $850 and up. How does the lbs of thrust convert to hp? Instead of getting a gas powered outboard, I'm thinkin if i got the biggest electric trolling motor (55 lb thrust), how much hp is that? A good electric motor is about $200 + battery.

How would you fish these conditions?
There's pads, docks, fallen trees.

How would you fish these conditions?
I have a tourney coming up this weekend. The weather has been warm the last couple of days in the high 70s to low 80s. Water temps in the mid to upper 60s. There is a big storm coming up the east coast & expecting water levels to rise a lot. Then the temps to drop into the high 50's on Sunday (tourney day). How would approach these conditions? What structure or cover should I target? :-/ (I'm in Massachusetts)

Need a new Baitcasting rod
My last trip was not a good day of fishin (but better than a good day at work ). Was fishin alone, just pushed my crawdad into water & was pulling trailer out to park it. Well my new Berkley lighting rod & Abu silver max reel was hang over the edge of the boat. As I pulled the trailer out it clips my rod & snaps it in half $#!^$#!@^# :'(!! So, I'm now looking for a new baitcasting rod. I just recently also was thinking about getting a second baitcasting rod. One set up for jigs & worms with maybe with braided line. The second with mono for topwater, spinnerbaits & crankin. Does anyone have any recommendations. It wasn't the most expensive set up but it worked well for me. I'm looking to spend no more than $50. Thanks for help!

Novice - Getting there but need some guidance.
I fish a local pond in mass. Its 106 acres & the water really warms up fast. If water temps are in the 80's. Try slowing your retrieve. Warmer water doesn't dissolve oxygen as well as cooler or cold water, which can make the fish sluggish. Also, like everyone said try a different lure? Texas rig worms work really well when it gets hot.

I think I need medical attention!!
I think the medical term is "anglerietis". Its hopeless unless you get out & fish! LOL!!
