Dock Fishing
skipping a tube or floating worm to the back/center of the dock (usually the most protected spot) will get you a few more and occasionally a bigger bass. I like to use super light (1/16, 1/32) guido weedless heads when skipping tubes (slow fall). bluebasser was on the mark...all kinds of baits with multiple presentations in different areas of the dock on a given day. usually up to us to find out what's working. in rocky lakes, find docks with cribs holding the wooden frame. multiple angles of shade and ambush points. we have a lot of this in central ontario but this is also in stable level lakes. my guess is the floating docks are in lakes where the levels vary through the year or even week to week.

Rage Tail Craws Make The Trip
I put down the smallie stuff for a couple of days and went after LM. Flipping a rage tail craw was the ticket. Nice bait with a cool action. Found them a bit soft/easy to tear in the reeds/tules/rice so I could see some expensive days coming up! Didn't catch any huge fish but caught over 40 over the 2 days. The rage craw is definitely part of my arsenal now. Thanks all for the heads up in the posts. The only pic I have...set the hook through the LM cheek and grabbed rice! had to pry out the 12 incher. gotta love 65lb PP.

Your "turning Point" Purchase
In the mid 70s, I was about 15 and used hula poppers and jitterbugs. We used to go to nascar at MIS and I was about to fish the campsite lake. An older gentleman (whose name escapes me) hooked me up with rebel ringworms and taught me how to texas rig a worm. We caught the only bass on the lake that day. THAT was my turning point. I went home and bought a worm kit and off I went. Over time, I started to like taking unskilled anglers out in the boat and putting them on fish. Very satisfying to hear them talk to their friends about how much fun they had and the fish they caught. I guess it went full circle.

Anyone Use Snaps For Cranks With Success?
I have been using Berkley cross-loks (1 and 3 sizes) for many years without failure. use on topwaters, cranks, jerks, spoons but not spinnerbaits or jigs/tubes(direct).

Batteries Completly Dead?
ok, I let the batteries sit overnight and still have 12.8+VDC on both. after re-reading the post about the boiling, I recalled that when they are charging, there is at least a bit of "boiling" or leakage from both batteries, both caps on each. the fluid levels are what I would consider ok (definitely not close to the caps) and are equal in each cell. any input is appreciated. thanks. Tim J

Monofilament
trilene XT, but getting away from mono into braid. still feel better with mono on the topwater.

Batteries Completly Dead?
way2slow...I have almost 14.6VDC at the battery while charging and 12.9VDC on the battery after sitting about 4 hrs. I will wait until tomorrow morning to re-measure if better. My chargers never go lower than maybe 3A, even after charging overnight. (12VDC, 10A charger) The batteries start out strong but do not last into the day. If you recall, I was the person corrected here for giving some bad info on treatment of DC batteries. As it turns out, my original advise from yrs ago was wrong. I have taken the advise of those here who know. I use 2-type 31, both are in their 4th season...and they have been mistreated, ie, I ran them down severely before charging. I am thinking that I may have 1 or more reduced capacity cells in each battery due to my miscare. My thought is to go purchase 2 new batteries and start again, knowing what I know now. Any input will help. Thanks Tim J (edit...chastised was a bit harsh, sorry)
