Just recently put boat in shop with lower unit issues. The shop is telling me that I need to replace unit. I've got 2 choices: replace internal parts with generic parts, 1 yr warranty or replace the whole unit with new original one same warranty. The difference is about $1000. This is a 2000yr model 200hp johnson. Just not sure which way to go. Will the generic parts perform same as original?

:-?I'm sure there are several technics for fishing a top for bass. What I've been doing is dropping a jig or tx rig worm into top, the problem I'm having is hanging up and I believe scaring fish away. I would appreciate any advice on how to fish a top/brush pile.

Just started crappie fishing,wanted to try some jigs but don't know what colors work best. Can anyone give me some direction?

Put out this morning at North TB State Pk caught 13 small fish in Sammy gill and Patrons on traps in about 3-7 ft of water. Went to Lanans caught 4 fish 2-3lbs. on red bug worm and brown jig in 16' of water. Can't wait to get back, me and my wife have a camping trip next Thurs-Sun at Cypress Bend.

Since we are getting good info on depth finder, I got a question: Blue showing up on DF are soft echos such as fish, what colors would sand, clay , and a soft bottom show?

I had the same problem with my unit one time. I cleaned all the connections, even checked the fuse holder connections , next I charged my cranking battery. Next time I took boat out I had no problems.

I had gone to get a tire for my daughter's car and a few of us fellows got to talking about fishing. One of the guys said that TB was going to pulled down lower than 165, possibly down in the 150's. Can anyone clear this up?

I,ve been having problems with my 30amp breaker tripping on my 24 volt tm. Cleaned all connectors and replaced breaker. This only happens when i have to run on max spd. Should i replace cables and what gauge wire should i use.

I had a 178 progator gave it to my son,found out that if I wanted to fish the main lake I needed a bigger boat. Now I own a 21' Triton. I still use the progator if I go to Red River.
