Kill The Bass!
What lake are you speaking of if you dont mind me asking? Hope it isn't one that I fish.

Kill The Bass!
Very true, bass are certainly not the most popular fish here. Many times I'll be the only bass fisherman on the water. I went to a Walmart in Texas and I felt like I was in BPS, I saw things I had never seen before. Very different from the Walmarts around here that are geared toward trout fisherman. But, with all that said, I've been here for 10 years and hope I never leave, you can fish for bass almost any way you want.

Help Installing Trolling Motor, First Time
From Motor Guide over the phone. They told me the mount was 20", but I'm not getting 20" by my measurements, more like 20.8 or 20.9. If what I'm getting is right, I should be able to get a motor that fits exactly.

Help Installing Trolling Motor, First Time
I've got an older Motor Guide 767V Brute trolling motor on my R93 Ranger that I have decided I am going to replace because of how much it will cost to get fixed. I've having a dilemma on choosing a motor, I want quality, but for the most reasonable price possible. Then once I have the motor I'm kind of nervous about putting it on, I've never done it and don't want to make any mistakes. First thing that concerns me is according to motorguide, the mount I currently have is 20 inches and the smallest mount on any new motorguide is 20.8, which means I may have to drill holes in the mount and void the warranty. Any words of wisdom or advice any of you can give me for purchase and or installation are really appreciated. Thanks

Yes, you'll be investing in a new trolling motor, figure 1K and up. You might be able to use that to talk him down.

Float And Fly Technique?
Thank you guys for the information! I'm already looking at set ups. I think I'm going to go with the BPS microlite suggested in the article and the Bob's bobbers. I've also seen that kit on BPS with the Punisher jigs and the fish dope that I might look more into. It's a ways off until I will try it, but it is exiting having a new technique to look forward to, especially in that cold water when the fishing can be so tough. Thanks again.

Can And Want To
Exactly. I've been throwing a 20ft Diving Crankbait for 4 straight days and haven't pulled one in over a 1 1/2 lb, plus my arm is about to fall off. Swim a jig in 15-20 ft of water or throw a drop shot and like J Francho said, wait until fall and you should have better luck with those fast moving baits.

Float And Fly Technique?
I'm thinking about getting a float and fly kit and trying it out in the fall. Does anyone have suggestions for this technique, or anything they can tell me about how they have done with it? Thanks
