  1. Good job, love fishing pits!
  2. .I have a guide for you who lives and runs his business out of Ft. Myers. If you still need him send me a PM. Can Probably set you up with a guide trip out of a private rock pit near Ft. Myers with major double digit bass.
  3. Good save Bruce! I was out there yesterday and the day before. It was horrible for us.
  4. Thats great. You gotta be a proud papa.
  5. I'd be happy too! Good fish.
  6. Folks are born with a set of aptitudes, skill sets and abilities. I call them Gifts. You can say the Lord gave them to you or they were passed down through your parents gene pool. Professionals develop and refine these Gifts and abilities to the point that they become one with the occupation or game. So my conclusion is yes, Pros are born.....and yes, Pros are made
  7. Now that I have seen that fish I can go to Heaven! Incredible...absolutely incredible.
  8. Great picture Robert! Would you feel comfortable walking around in those areas fishing?
  9. Nice fish!
  10. Do you ever get the guy in the boat with you who is just so competitive that he takes the fun and relaxation out of your fishing trip? I'll bet your thinking of someone now, or maybe its you. I have several good friends who just can't take it if you catch more or better fish than they do. They won't say anything if you get up on them but oh boy if they catch a pig or more than me, then the smack talk starts. It drives me crazy! I always want the other guy to do well. I guess I'am just geared a little different. Looking forward to the comments
  11. Jay D, thats a great map!!!!!!!!! Thanks, I needed that. Know I know for sure that I was in the Monkey Box last week
  12. You have a good honey hole there. Nice fish!
  13. I use a 6.6 gal w/a 50hp 2 stroke. That gives me a 32 mile range. I think you will be just fine with your 9 gal., especially if its a 4 stroke.
  14. That boat is pefect for south Florida. save the bait and we'll go out on Okeechobee sometime soon....in your boat
  15. Congratulations on getting your water toy!
  16. The canal that is across the hwy. is good bank action. But as Evergladesbasser said it's tough when the water is up and running. Those areas are killer when the water is on the rise after the summer dry season.
  17. Not sure about the ditch. But there was about 2ft. at the entrance to dynamite pass, if that gives you an idea. We were fishing in 4-5ft everywhere else.
  18. We put in at Moore Haven. I just posted up a full report in the "Fishing Report" section.
  19. Dan Bieniek a fellow Bass Resource member and I loaded up the Gheenoe skiff and headed north to the Big O. We wanted to fish in an area called Moonshine Bay. We took 7 mile ditch out of Moore Haven to the Dynamite Cut trail. Once we arrived at the entrance we saw that even in my shallow water skiff there would be no way I could navigate the trail safely. We opted to continue our run out towards the lake. Within a few minutes we had found a good looking area full of lilly pads, hydrilla, bully whips and kissimmee grass. We tied on some of the JD'sCustomBaits frogs and got to work. We were picking up fish slowly throughtout the day. At about 4 in the afternoon we went on a tear, putting several 6# class bass in the boat and fighting a handfull more of similiar or better sized fish. Despite using 7'6" heavy action flipping sticks and 40#&65# braid, we just could not get alot of the fish out of the thick cover. We put somewhere around 22 fish in the boat. Dan had a couple of 4 pounders and three 6+ pounders for a personal best 27# sack. I picked up a 15# sack. All were caught on the frog. It was a great day on the lake and I'am already plotting the next trip up in a couple of weeks.
  20. What kind of boat? This was not Moonshine Bay.
  21. Those are beautiful pictures of some great fish!
  22. Very nice fish!
  23. Lake Okeechobee was happening today! Dan, co owner of JD'sCustomBaits was with me. He boated a personal best 27# sack. I caught somewhere around a 15# sack. We both had fish we could not get to the boat. All were caught using his handpoured frogs. Video and full report will be on the general fishing forum when I get it edited.
  24. Sorry Bruce don't mean to hijack your thread. But I'am going to Moonshine Bay in the morning. Can't run the outside and not too familiar with the inside trailsout of Clewiston. Was thinking about launching out of MooreHaven istead. Any thoughts on that? Also how do I get to a launch in MooreHaven?
  25. Good job Bruce!
