Why Are Bass Boats So Expensive.
iv always been into cars. I have owned nice and fast boats and nice and fast cars. Here my theory. You can buy a bone stock corvette ZR1 with 700 horsepower for $100,000. Or you can buy a $2,000 piece of junk. Both get you from point A to point B. One does it faster and with a lot more attention. I sold all my fun toys except for my 2004 GTO. I had tons of modifications in to it. It was my baby, but i sold it to get a brand new bass boat. But after i sold it i realized that my 2002 Tracker Pro Crappie does me just fine. Yeah, it doesnt have the storage, deck space, and "look at me" factor as a brand news Ranger. But i upgraded the electronics and it does what it has to do. Boat manufacturers are just like car manufacturers. If i lived on kentucky lake or guntersville, i could justify buying a $50,000 boat. But I live in Illinois and fish strip mines and small rivers. For instance, if i lived near the Autobahn, id own a modded out Porsche GT3. As long as there are people out there willing to pay, theyll keep selling.

I Have My Electronics Search Narrowed Down To 2...
i just purchased a 597ci hd di last week and used it saturday. It is truly amazing on what you see when the DI. I fish a strip mine that i have been fishing for 2 days a week for 10 years and thought i knew everything about it. The DI helped me find structure i never knew was there.

Copolymer Lines.... For What?
i also use the sufix copoly. Its on most my reels. I like it because its more manageable than fluoro, and a little less stretch than mono. Its also really cheap, i get a 300 yd spool for $5.

What's The Most Bizarre Thing That's Ever Happened To You While Fishing?
I was fishing a small river near dusk. I was wading on a big bend in the river. All of a sudden i hear a huge splash behind me, 2 coyotes jumped off the bank into the river about 15 feet from me. They couldnt of seen me because of where i was standing. I let out an "OH SH%*" and the one in the rear turned and looked at me, and then it proceeded to lower its head, the hair on his back stood up, and he let out a wierd noise. I have never ran so fast in my life. I made it back to the truck and realized i left my tackle bag back on the shore where i took off. I grabbed my Taurus .40 from under my truck seat and went back to get my bag. May have been the scariest moment of my adult life.

Livetarget Frog Issues
I was skeptical at first. I went out last thursday after work. On my 10th cast i landed a 5lber. I ended up catching a 5 fish limit of 17 lbs. My previous best 5 fish limit on this body of water was 15 lbs. I was throwing the smallest size and it landed over 18 fish and still looks and fishes like it is brand new.

Finding Bass In A Creek
I have fished a creek for smallies and largemouth since i was 7 (im 29 now). I have found that i rarely catch fish on the same bait in consecutive outings, and that changing baits is key. I also looked at what was the main forage for the bass. Depends on where your at, but most likely you have sculpins, creek chubs, craws, tadpoles, insects, and smaller fish. I always start with a craw. I have success with the yum crawbug and baby rage craw. Anything that imitates a craw is a fantastic creek bait. If you dont mind using live bait, i suggest buying a small minnow net for 99 cents at your local bait shop. Walk the shore line and scoop up the sand, rock, silt etc. You will find all kinds of forage such as craws, hellgramites, worms. If wading is possible, cover as much water as possible. If you find a nice boulder in a deep hole (say 4 ft deep), fish that boulder everytime you fish that creek. The more you learn, the more you will be able to eliminate bad water for good water. My only consistent bait is jig and craw, grub, naked craw, and smaller tubes. One day i landed over 30 smallies on a Rogue, i have not caught a single smallie on a rogue since that day. Same thing with cranks, had an amazing day one day and havent had much action on a crankbait since. I also work an area that i believe holds fish for a LONG time. Ill spend an hour on one hole if i believe theres fish there. I figure even if i dont catch anything, i learn the bottom contour, and what structure is in the area. You just have to stick with it.

Bingham Ltd. Pps-50
I was just wondering if anyone has any information or value of this gun. My father in law has collected some guns over the years. He showed me this little rifle and i fell in love and he gave it to me. It has never been fired and has a certificate saying it is #425 of the first 1,000 produced. I googled and didnt find much info. Used prices are between $500-$700. I originally had plans to fire it as often as my other guns. But if i have something of value, i dont want to fire it and lessen its value. Its not even something i would be willing to sell, i just find think its a really cool rifle. The fact that it was issued on 8-18-1982 and has not been fired is really cool to me. He also has a Bingham ltd. Ak that also has not been fired. Both rifles are .22s. The PPS-50 has a 50 round drum mag and a sling. The gun, drum mag,and sling are in its original packing with the original preservative oil. I just cant believe he had this awesome looking rifle laying around and never fired it. I cant wait to throw a new bait, let alone shoot a new gun.

New Pb
Stopped by the local stream today after work. On the 6th cast i hooked into my new pb smallie. It weighed a tad over 4 lbs. This stream has some decent smallies, but there more long. This thing was like a football, something youd see in the great lakes. Its belly was FULL. The best part is i caught it on one of my home made jigs.
