  1. I got it. Had two bearings mixed up. The bearing that goes where I'm trying to put this one fits in the magnetic brake perfect and I had it in there. I switched them, they are different thickness but same diameter.
  2. Capricorn 100XTC I don't see how else the bearings would go any other place but I am going to go look once more. I have come to the conclusion that has to be the case. It didn't fall out, nut I didnt have to beat it out our anything when I took it out.lol
  3. Maybe the pic is too big but I can't see the bearing I have laying next to the reel on my screen. It's the one that goes into the opening on the right, the tensioner bearing I guess.
  4. OK, I'm stumped and feel like a dummy. I took apart my reels to clean and lube them. The BPS Extreme, no problem. My Daiwa Capricorn, everything was OK until this bearing. I can't get it back in to save my life. I'm doing something wrong. It goes about half way but won't seat far enough to get the clip in. Any advice? This is the first time I'm taking this reel apart and can't see where I would have the bearings mixed up, but I'm going to check once more for the 100th time.
  5. Cool, I knew it was some kind of clutch because that is waht it was labeled in the parts breakdown. Thanks for that info, now I know exactly how it works.
  6. Thanks. Thats what I did on the bearings you mentioned, I just didn't know exactly what to do with the one way bearing.
  7. I am new to baitcasters and just got two reels I've been practicing with all winter. One older BPS Extreme. I took it apart, cleaned it, lubed it, and "super tuned" it. Seems like an improvement, but its an older reel so possibly its just the cleaning and re oiling, anyway I was wanting to do the same to my Daiwa Capricorn that is new. I disassembled it and the pinion shaft is plastic, I assume I would just leave this real alone and not try to mess with it as it is plastic riding on brass. I thought about just polishing the pinion gear and seeing if it made a difference. Question 2. Does the bearing or one way "clutch," not sure what it is called, get oil or grease? I assume grease since it is a bearing, even though it is a roller bearing and not a ball bearing. Thanks for any help.
