  1. During summer months temperatures are constantly in the 90s, especially around New Jersey. During the day bass are inactive, sluggish etc etc. During sunset bass binge and slowly feed all night, they have to expel less energy during the night to feed. So by sunrise bass are taking a nap, much like many of us do after a nice Turkey dinner. So in my expeirence I've found bass don't eat at sunrise but have there morning meal around 8 or 9 during hot summer months. Which would justify the luck at sunrise you've been having. Altough there is the exception to every rule. I'd like to think this is my own philosophy but I think I heard Bill Dance or someone say this. GOOD LUCK.
  2. great info....but if you could quickly answer me, if you know; the diffrence between the PowerDrive v2 and the Terrova?
  3. What is everyones expierence with seaguar? I'm thinking of starting to flip with flouro and do not have enough expierence with either Trilene or Seaguar as I've only used it on spinning apps but my buddy has started to throw crankbaits with the trilene flouro and does like it. With a little KVD conditioner he has had no problems with it, if that helps anyones decisions.
  4. what is considered shallow by 800 khz standars??? I hardly ever fish deeper than 30 ft, what would be better in my situation?
  5. Hey thanks for the help, a quick call to quantum and I had the schematics in my email within moments!!!
  6. Thanks for the help. I had scrolled through those pages as well. I have a quantom, KV10001hxd baitcaster that i can't find any schematics for. They do seem harder to find than Abu or shimano. There also built a little diffrently, lol. Any other suggestions...
  7. I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that has Quantum reel schematics......Besides reelschematics.com where I would need to sign up and pay, might be my last resort.
  8. Awesome thanks all whats the diffrence between all the core models, spool size? Going to look into the Abu series some more with their braking system.
  9. Thinking of trying out abu garcia reels. I'm interested into knowing what suggestions you'd all make for a flipping/pitching reel from them. Which can handle braid better and 17lb mono...Also thinking of trying the Shimano Core for a flipping reel???? Or any other suggestions....7:1 gear ratio would be preferred and a flipping switch is not needed but a bonus. Thanks!
  10. Do most of you guys leave your batteries on a trickle charge/float or do you all prefer to charge them periodically. Wondering everyone's opinion as to which is best. Thanks.
  11. Could anyone suggest a good website to learn how to clean your reels efficiently. I no longer have my booklets to my citicas and curados and would like to kill some time. Thanks alot. I did check out reel schemetics but only want to pay as a final resort.
  12. ha thats great....u do not have titles to your boat in CT if anyone else wants to know. Thanks
  13. I recently purchased a bass boat in CT and the previous owner does not remember ever seeing a title for neither the boat or trailer. After a little research I did find out the trailers in CT with a GVW of under 3000 lbs do not have a title. Could anyone help me out and let me know what the deal is with titles and boats in CT if you have one??? As I'm in Mass; the laws are a little diffrent....any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Another crazy question...I'm assuming the Pro Qualifier Baitcasts are all marked down for the sale....is the discount for the reel trade in taken off the sale price or the original price? Anyone that knows...thanks. Also are all rods on sale...Like GLoomis and Falcons or just Bass Pro Brands and also what other sales do they have???
  15. Looking around for a crankbait rod...I tend to like the extra length to my rods and found a 7'11 telescopic rod by american rodsmiths. Confused about a telescopic rod can anyone with expirience using one shed some light for me as to the advantages and disavantages. Thanks alot!
  16. is there a good diagram or instructions anywhere anybody can recommend using as a guide for cleaning reels...Thanks
  17. I was wondering if anybody could help me decipher something with these rods. I've never seen action described as medium light....I'm thinkin its less than moderate. Also I'm hoping its a medium heavy??? I'm interested in the Grass Rip'n Special. Any input would be greatly appreciated. American Rodsmiths Rat-L-Trap Series Rods are technique specific allowing you to take the guess work out of choosing the right rod. Model # Description Length Line Weight Lure Weight Action RT-69 Rat-L-Trap Special 6'9" 8-17lb 1/4-5/8oz Medium Fast RT-GR70 Grass Ripp'n Special 7'0" 12-20lb 1/4-3/8oz Medium Light RT-LC76 Long Cast Edition 7'6" 10-30lb 3/8-1 1/4oz Medium Fast
  18. CRC-C711M....this might be my latest thought....enough backbone???
  19. Looking around for a MH Mod action 7'6 rod for pulling lipless cranks out of grass and double as my cranking rod for 8+ depths...I'm not having much luck matching that criteria...I'm really trying to stick with that setup and if anyone could suggest otherswise let me know. I've found many 7'6 med mod setups but feel that would be too light. Anyone have expierence using a medium rod with 3/8-1/2 lipless baits. I'd say I'll be using 60/40 with lipless being the 60%... any help would be appreciated.
  20. If my budget is $1,000 would you guys suggest looking around for a HB917 or would you suggest looking for HDS 5 with structure scan or have any of you guys found that screen is too small???
  21. I picked up the KVD rod at BPS the other day, trying to narrow down my decisions. I felt that rod was extremely heavy for my liking; something you might want to hold in your hand before purchasing, maybe it will fit your needs just wanted to point that out. Not for me atleast.
  22. would you all recommend a parabolic flex for throwing lipless crankbaits...perhaps in a MH compared to a medium flex that you would want for throwing smaller crankbaits. I ask because I've always used a MH....Extra Fast for lipless and cranking bait alike. I need to change to a moderate action. I'm wondering if a medium/moderate can throw 6-10 diving crankbaits and 1/2 ounce lipless baits at the same time or if I should be going with a medium moderate for my cranks and medium heavy moderate for my lipless... The last few posts really have helped me narrow down my decisions, look forward to hearing more.
  23. no one has mentioned purchasing a rod with an S Glass blank...I'm in the market for a crankin stick as well. Through my research I've noticed thats a common suggestion. Perhaps all the suggested rods are S Glass. But can someone help me out and tell me why that is important. Some of my top choices are graphite and thats what I've always used...What are the benefits of S Glass? Thanks alot!
