  1. Welcome aboard! I'm sure you'll get some tips soon from folks who've fished that lake. Good luck!
  2. Disabled certainly deserve places to fish, and if your laws are as you say, then perhaps getting in to politics will be a good route to go. You could also go the route of having a petition signed by locals, working with local news sources to bring attention to issues, and so forth. Good luck, Bill.
  3. Welcome aboard! Can't help you with blank lures, but some lure builders on the forum might...
  4. Welcome aboard! Only one way to find out, mate. Git 'er done! If you catch, you didn't waste your time And if you don't, you didn't waste your time because you were fishing!
  5. Welcome aboard, Ben!
  6. Welcome aboard!
  7. At least some of 'em came to play! Congrats!
  8. Welcome aboard!
  9. Easy answer is between 3 & 5 pounds. And welcome aboard, @Charles Pryor III! Next purchase - a scale! Then we'll know for sure!
  10. Love green pumpkin/orange in several soft plastics including the TRD and Yamamoto Senko
  11. Used to have my Dad's Mitchell reels from back in the day. Solid reels. Had an old Daiwa similar to the Quantum, with one-handed casting.
  12. LOL!! Fish-n-skate! C'mon @Glenn we need a video of how to do that from the deck of a boat!!
  13. Congrats! Awesome haul!
  14. I use both, tend to prefer the Finesse simply because I get more action than when I use a Trick worm, but I do like both.
  15. Excellent start to his fishing addiction.
  16. I do not have one, but I do have a Native Ultimate 12. I looked at the Slayer 10 when it came out, and it does get a lot of great reviews online. As for scupper holes, yes, you can plug them. I'm not sure if the 10 gets as much as the 13 since it was designed afterward. If you look online, both YouTube and Native forums you'll find comparisons of the Native Propel and other foot-powered yaks. The Propel drive does get you going at a decent clip. I think, if memory serves, 3.5-4.5 is top speed...but I could be wrong. Here's a forum you can peruse: http://nativeownersgroup.com/forum/12-native-watercraft-slayer-propel™/ "Must Have" accessories? Anchor trolley - both sides. As for the rest, I always suggest you fish out of the yak several times before making any modifications as you learn how YOU fish out of that particular yak. In otherwords, if a yak is pre-set for fishing, you may find you wish that dohicky they installed was over there instead of where they put it. This way you can determine where you like stuff mounted.
  17. Welcome aboard!
  18. Welcome aboard, John! This is absolutely the right place to learn. I'll give you a little tip which will likely help put you on some fish - it's called the Ned rig. Do a search in the forum, you'll see what I mean. https://www.bassresource.com/how-to-fish/
  19. For low memory mono, I'd suggest Berkeley XL. But seeing I use braid + leader for everything I'd wait for other suggestions to come up from the community here. I used to use XL and it was quite limp.
  20. That's a happy thumb!
  21. Physically lighter/smaller? You could supertune the 70... hedgehogstudios.co.jp for some juicy upgrades.
  22. I use a Shimano Chronarch 50e. The newer 70 series will handle light lures, soft plastics.
  23. Welcome aboard, Jason!
  24. Indeed. When I lived there I remember a mother lion and her cubs (IIRC correctly) were living in a barn in Mt. Morris or was it Hemlock (?)... Memory not serving me right now, but it was in the mid 90s. Wouldn't doubt they were released by DEC, but like u say, who knows.
  25. Welcome aboard, Kaden! 12# is a good all-around pound test. Why do you wish to switch from braid? Just curious...
