Braided Line
20lb is fine for bait casting. I use 20lb Power Pro on my rigs. Yes, it can dig in on snags, etc., but if you are aware of that potential issue, then you can deal with it by letting some line out before your next cast to make sure you're not dug in.

Why You Should Check Your Local Sporting Goods Store Often!
DSG's one of the best stores for discounts and even extra surprise discounts at checkout. We've bought bikes on clearance that were even *further* discounted when the cashier scanned the barcode. Same thing for a multipurpose game table, and other stuff. We love DSG

Young Low Budget Anglers
First welcome aboard! Choporoz is right, more info needed. Primarily: budget. The suggestions will range based on that. In the mean time, I'll suggest a MH rod at around 6'6", say a Berkley Lightning Rod Shock for around $50, combined with a Shimano spinning reel like a Sedona. Those can be had at Walmart for "cheap", but then again, cheap is relative.

Wacky Rig Hook Help !
I bolded what I use. I've used the Owner hooks, they're good hooks as well, but the ones with "beaks" -- in my experience-- don't hook up as well. As well, I go as low as a #4 hook when I'm gunning for anything.

Good News My Doctor Yesterday
Take care, relax, enjoy the other things of life. Been in an "other things of life" phase myself for most of the summer, though not due to injury. Bass beware, I'm comin' for ya in the Fall!
